Overview:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; completion of all clerical duties; type ID card, transfer log information, retrieve x-ray jacket, post procedure on jacket, record daily/monthly departmental statistical log information, etc. Selects and operates radiographic, fluoroscopic, digital and tomographic imaging equipment. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Shall be attending the accredited SBU Radiologic Technology two-year allied health program to become eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Certifications: Current CPR certification.

  • Other: Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: This individual must be capable of: manipulating x-ray equipment, including mobile and other equipment; carrying cassettes; selecting and manipulating exposure factors; evaluating radiographs; lifting, moving, and transporting patients; continual standing and walking; recognizing emergency situations; adapting to stressful situations; communicating effectively. Equipment Used: This individual should be proficient in the use of: radiographic equipment, radiographic processors, computers.
