Radiology Tech Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, applying x-ray energy, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.

Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Performs radiographic procedures to patients in accordance with departmental policy. Provides a variety of technical exams that require independent judgement to apply ionized radiation for radiologic diagnoses.

Responsible for on-call procedures when indicated. Must be able to do surgery cases and pain management.

THE RADIOLOGY TECH CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Completion of JRCERT approved formal program in Radiologic Technology.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum six-(6) months clinical experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current American Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Certified Radiology Tech (CRT), CPR.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Good verbal communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff.

SUPERVISES: Functional supervision will be exercised over students.
