Job Summary of the Radiology Regulatory Compliance Coordinator The Radiology Regulatory Compliance Coordinator is responsible for survey preparedness and standard interpretation for regulatory agencies. The position requires familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards.

This position is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of activities related to compliance and regulatory agencies. These activities include: Regulatory Compliance, Performance Improvement/Control activities in all modalities, Radiation Safety; Chargemaster/CPT coding, Staff training/education programs.

The Radiology Regulatory Compliance Coordinator assists the Director in ensuring all Diagnostic Imaging procedures and processes meet the standards and practices set forth by State Regulations, TJC, CMS, Food and Drug Administration, American College of Radiology, Department and Hospital Policies & Procedures. This individual must be self-directed with positive interpersonal skills and be able to effectively interface with staff, management, and medical staff members. Responsibilities of the Radiology Regulatory Compliance Coordinator Maintain the Regulatory Compliance in the Radiology Department.Monitor accreditation, regulatory standards, and related laws and communicate changes to the department (i.e., TJC, ACR, TDH, CMS etc.).Coordinate the efforts in the Radiology Department to comply with all standards and regulations.Design plan to ensure readiness and a system of checks and balances to assess compliance for any survey (i.e., ACR, TDH, TJC, CMS etc).Attend facility meetings and associated interdisciplinary meetings to accomplish all regulatory standards compliance in the Radiology Department.Coordinate and facilitate TJC and TDH survey preparation and survey activities for the Radiology Department and facility.Participate in hospital surveys (scheduled and unannounced) and monitors development and compliance for plans of action.Keep accurate documentation of all processes developed to achieve standards compliance.Provide regular updates and appropriate feedback to Department Director, Committees, Senior Management, Medical Staff Meetings, etc.Lead and/or assist with program certification processes as defined by the goals of the facility (i.e. ACR, TDH screening certification).Accountable for regulatory compliance in the organization Radiation Safety Program.Act as the Radiation Officer's designee.Assist the Radiation Safety Officer by completing mandatory QC test and evaluations.Assist with managing appropriate quality control programs for Radiology, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI and Ultrasound.Ensure all Quality Control activities are performed to standard and policy.Review modality QC monthly, quarterly and annually

Review annual QC and Radiation Audits annually

Maintain the department dosimetry program.Maintain the accuracy of the Radiology Chargemaster and department supplies.Maintain HCPCS/CPT coding compliance with CMS.Accurately assign HCPCS/CPT codes for interventional radiology and EP/implant procedures.Review Department Ancillary Charge Report for errors in charging/coding, edits as needed.Review Control Copy request from Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, CT, MRI, Specials, and Out-patient Radiology for errors in charging/coding, edits as needed.Act as recourse for radiology charging and code for billing, registration and medical staff.Investigates and corrects as needed inquiries from the Report Team/Hospital auditors on discrepancies, edits, etc.Maintain the Process Improvement program for radiology.Obtain medical staff peer review data from blind readings or ED/Rad discrepancies.Participate in team building and self- improvement activities.Assist with the development and implement of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of imaging services.Review and revise policies, procedures and guidelines as needed.Contribute to the effective management and growth of Diagnostic Imaging.Act as a resource person to Department staff members in the identification and solutions of problems.Collect and chart monthly statistics for all imaging modalities and reports to Director.Participate actively in departmental and hospital councils, committees, and action groups.Perform other duties/task as requested.Work with Director and Radiologist to set standard of quality in techniques, procedures, and patient care.Demonstrate understanding of HCA's and "Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. Qualifications of the Radiology Regulatory Compliance Coordinator EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an America Medical Association- approved program in Radiologic TechnologyAssociate Degree preferred

Seven years of experience in an acute-care setting as a Radiologic Technologist LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certified as a Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB)Advance certification in QC and Interventional Coding preferred
