Radiology Practitioner Assistant

1. Participate in staff quality improvement initiatives

2.Responsible to ensure adequate training and on boarding of new RA'S

3.Required to complete RA schedule and coordinate patient schedule accordingly

4.Clinical liaison for ultrasound program

5.Develop and maintain departmental programs(ie: MSK)

6.Participates in policy and procedure updates and review

7.Performs OR cases when requested by surgical team

8.Perform routine fluoroscopy procedures including myelograms, cystograms, arthrograms and joint injections.

9.Obtain history & physicals and consents on patients as required

10. Performs ultrasound and CT guided paracentesis and thoracentesis.

11. Perform ultrasound guided biopsies.

12. May assist in the performance of non-endovascular imaging and guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including but not limited to drainages, biopsies, lumbar puncture and myelography.

13. Exercises autonomy in decision making with regards to patient assessment, patient management and in providing a broad range of radiology diagnostic and interventional services.

14. Assesses and evaluates the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient.

15. Administers intravenous medications or contrast media, under the supervision of a certified radiologist.

16. Performs specialized imaging procedures under the supervision of a certified radiologist.

17. Protocols CT examinations.

18. Scribes preliminary reports on all imaging modalities to be reviewed and finalized by an attending radiologist.

19. Evaluate Images for completeness and diagnostic quality

20. Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested.

• Graduate of a CBRPA program or ARRT program

• Must have a Masters degree of Health Science Radiologist Assistant

• At least two years of experience in diagnostic radiology (scribing plain films, ultrasounds and CT reports for review with the interpreting radiologist.

• Registered / licensed as a Radiology Physician Extender and radiologic technologist in the State of Massachusetts

• In good standing and active registration with CBRPA or ARRT.
