Description
The Radiology Clinical Instructor reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Provides clinical education and supervision to the radiologic technology students designed to meet established course work criteria.
Prepares students clinically to conform with educational principles and curriculums from the perspective colleges.
Assumes duties and responsibilities of a staff technologist required by the supervisor and/or manager of Diagnostic Imaging.
Meets quarterly or every semester with college program faculty members to review student progress, records, evaluation and grades.
Responsibilities:
Provides students with clinical instruction and supervision.
Evaluates students' clinical competence.
Maintains knowledge of program goals and understands the clinical objectives and clinical evaluation systems of the schools.
Adheres to program/hospital policies and procedures.
Assists in the recruitment of new students by hosting interviews for prospective applicants of the Radiology Collegiate Programs.
Monitor student's clinical progress and proficiencies while providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Meets with program faculty to discuss student progress, evaluations, attendance and grades.
Responds to student/staff questions as they pertain to the clinical setting.
Aids in solving student/student or student/staff conflicts.
Coordinates direct supervision of students by staff radiology technologists during the clinical experience.
Performs diagnostic radiographic duties to provide smooth and continuous operations of the department.
Maintains individual and secure student files.
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate from an approved school of Radiologic Technology
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Certification
BLS CPR Certification
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist and must be familiar with all aspects of Diagnostic Radiology.
