Responsibilities

Clinical Imaging:

• Accurately perform diagnostic exams of patient as requested by provider using proper imaging techniques.

• Provide proper education of procedure to patients, their family, and others as needed.

• Employ proper radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

• Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination to patients.

• Perform quality control activities on imaging equipment to ensure optimum image quality.

• Verify that an annual and successful inspection is performed by a Radiation Physicist.

Lab:

• Perform phlebotomy duties and process/package specimens according to protocols.

• Collect and prepare specimens for point of care testing.

• Record and document laboratory results for each performed test. Retain records for the required length of time in a secure location.

• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and work area according to policy and procedure.

• Perform quality controls within laboratory using standard laboratory test and measurement controls.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for Radiology Technologists.

• Must maintain ARRT registration and have current license to perform radiologic procedures.

• Previous expeirence with phlebotomy and/or specimen collection & processing preferred.
