SCHEDULE PRN All Shifts PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Experience, and Training Must have successfully completed formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved program and be registered (or eligible for registry) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology.
Must possess valid State of Iowacredential (i.e.
Iowa Permit to Practice) Must possess the following certifications, based on skill set: Radiologic Technologist- must be registered through ARRT in General Radiology and possess valid permit to practice from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Radiologic Technologist: CT/Mammography- must possess or obtain certification within 18 months after appropriate training is complete and application process is initiated.
MRI- must possess or obtain MRI certification within 18 months after appropriate training is complete and application process is initiated.
Radiologic Technologist: Ultrasound- must possess or obtain certification in Physics and either OB/GYN or Abdomen within one year of hire date.
Must obtain certification in second modality within 3 years.
Any Technologist working independently on second/third shift or weekend package must possess or obtain CT certification within 18 months after appropriate training is complete and application process is initiated.
On call technologist will arrive 20 minutes plus drive time of receiving initial notification Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system.
Job specific systems are also required.
Must possess Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Must possess valid Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse.
Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
Physical Requirements Sitting Approximately 25% of shift.
Standing Approximately 50% of shift.
Walking Approximately 25% of shift.
Lifting Approximately 35 pounds.
Must use, and require staff to use, when in hospital and pre-hospital settings, proper body mechanics and ergonomics and, as applicable, lifting/moving devices.
Squat/Kneel Occasionally less than 25% of shift.
