Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing routine, trauma, and Radiologic imaging per departmental needs.
RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain radiological services in accordance with standards established by Porter Hospital, State and Federal standards.
Perform radiological exams on patients as ordered by physicians with first priority given to trauma and critically ill patients.
Select proper radiographic techniques to provide optimum quality radiographs with the lowest possible dose to the patient.
Arrange, attach or adjust immobilization and support devices.
Position and instruct patients regarding procedures.
Wear personnel exposure monitoring devices at all times while on duty.
Provide quality control on all radiographs taken.
Participate in cooperative planning with other department personnel to provide maximum patient care.
Perform specific opening and closing duties related to shift.
Review and agree to abide by the Porter Medical Center Compliance and Code of conduct Program.
Perform Radiology Clerk duties as needed based on departmental needs.
Enter orders into EMR.
Register patients in EMR for x-rays.
Verify providers have dictated on all x-rays taken.
Forward imaging to PMC for surgeries, CT, MRI, etc.
Digitize films and burn CDs with x-rays images Fax patient log (day-end paperwork) to radiology and admitting.
Forward comparison x-rays to PMC for radiologists as needed EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Satisfactory completion of a formal radiological technology program in a CAHEA approved school and certification by the ARRT or its equivalent and current Vermont unrestricted State license to practice radiologic technology.
Also, demonstrates competence as a licensed professional.
Maintains professional growth and development to keep abreast in his/her field.
Will maintain certification in his/her special modality.
Up to one year experience in medical setting preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and be able to adapt to medical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: stooping/kneeling/crouching reaching/pushing/pulling/lifting standing or walking for sustained periods of time working primarily with hands proper application of body mechanics OTHER DEMANDS: Ability to work without immediate supervision.
