An acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services to the Fort Bend community. Clinical services include heart and vascular, gastroenterology, neurosciences, diagnostic imaging, women services, orthopedics, and surgical services including the latest in robotic surgery technology, the da Vinci Xi.

The hospital offers The University of Texas MD Anderson Regional Care Center on its campus. Sugar Land Hospital is a Pink Ribbon Facility offering 3-D digital mammography-one of only 100 sites in the United States.

1.Performs all Functions of a Radiologic Technologist I
2.Provides training for new incoming staff
3.Functions as a Radiographic Tech Lead when needed

Education and Licensure


Associate's Degree

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R); must maintain current Certified by Texas Department of Health as Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist MRT; must maintain current CPR/BLS certification

Minimum Experience

One (1) year of experience

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Good alpha/numerical dexterity and handwriting skills

Interpersonal skills for communication with patients, visitors, physicians and other hospital personnel

Must have good written and oral communication skills

JOB SUMMARY Upon the order of a qualified provider, the Ultrasound Technologist utilizes equipment that employs high frequency sound waves for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Imaging services vary by location, therefore, performance of sonohysterography and/or vascular ultrasound may be required depending on assigned site. The Ultrasound Technologist will utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete clerical processes and the designated Patient Archiving System (PACS). May be assigned to other duties, technical or non-technical if training, experience and credentials are deemed adequate by supervisor to perform those duties.. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (A = basics; B = preferred) Education A. High School diploma or equivalent B. Healthcare related degree Experience A. UST I/USTIIMinimum 1-year clinical ultrasound experience (May be met through completion of a formal ultrasound training program offering minimum 1-year clinical instruction)UST IIIMinimum 2 years ultrasound experience. B. PACS and RIS experience Licenses A. UST IRDMS ORRT(R) (S) ORMust be a current applicant to the ARDMS or ARRT (S) and MUST achieve one of these certifications within 1 year of hire date. Failure to do so will render the individual unable to meet the minimum job requirements for an ultrasound tech and result in termination of employment in that capacity BCLS certification UST IIRDMS with a minimum of 2 specialty registries applicable to our practice ORRT(R) (S) and minimum of 2 specialty registries applicable to our practiceBCLS certification UST IIIRDMS with minimum 2 specialty ultrasound registries as well as the RVT or RVS ORRT(R) (S) with an RVT or RVSBCLS certification B.
