Employees in this position maintain, troubleshoot, and repair analog/digital RF (Radio Frequency) communications systems. These employees will perform these functions on hand-held, base, and mobile communication systems that operate in frequency ranges from HF (High Frequency) to UHF Ultra High Frequency) and at power levels up to five hundred watts of output.
Employees will ensure that the communication systems meet FCC (Federal Communication Commission) standards. These employees will maintain logbooks on all equipment. Employees will travel to remote sites and perform antenna maintenance using man lifts and cherry-pickers.
