The Radiation Therapist will administer therapeutic doses of radiation therapy, as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written skills.

  • Accurately delivers dosage, per the direction of the Radiation Oncologist.

  • Maintains an accurate and detailed record of the therapeutic medical record.

  • Utilizes sophisticated imaging equipment in an effective and safe manner.

  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

  • Serves a population newborn through geriatric.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Technical aptitude.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy program.

  • Associate's degree in applied science.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year of working experience as a Radiation Therapist in a Hospital or Clinic setting.

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current licensure as a Radiation Therapist in the State of Kansas.

  • Registered or Registry eligible through the A.R.R.T.

  • Healthcare Provider BLS if BLS is not American Heart Association, AHA BLS is required within three months of hire.

PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • American Heart Association BLS.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * One year nurse assistant experience in an acute care setting. REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: * Healthcare Provider BLS – if BLS is not American Heart Association, AHA BLS is required within 30 days of hire * Certification as a CNA in the State of Kansas is required for employment on the Skilled Nursing Unit.
