Medical Physicist to cover ILH

Inova Center for Advanced Radiation Oncology and Proton is an international center for advanced cancer care and research, serving Northern Virginia, the Washington, DC metro area, and the world beyond. With locations across the northern Virginia, the Center can treat patient at Alexandria, Fair Oaks, Fairfax, Loudoun and Woodbridge where it's most convenient for the patients. Across the system, equipment includes 2 Vaults IBA Proton, 5 TrueBeams with HyperArc, 4 Trilogys, 1 M6 CyberKnife, 3 HDR units, 2 IORT units, 1 3T MRI and 6 simulation CTs. External planning is done with Eclipse and RayStation while using Aria for patient data management. The full-time physicist will provide all staff clinical duties as required mainly for Inova Loudoun Hospital but will have opportunities to work at other Inova locations depends on the need. The staff physicist will report to the System Director of Medical Physics for Inova and work under the direction of physicians from Radiation Oncology Associates group. The ideal candidate will be energetic and well-trained, possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, and have interest in potential career advancement within the Inova Health system.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics or related fields

  • Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience (including residency)

  • ABR board certified or eligible for certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics

  • Committed desire to collaborate and communicate with other member of the team to deliver clinical excellence

  • Research/education background and experience will be preferred

VIEW JOBS 2/6/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-06T00:00 Job Description We are seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Manager to support EHS compliance of Stryker's commercial organization, especially by our sales and field personnel who call on and/or service healthcare facilities. In coordination with the commercial businesses and applicable EHS partners in the businesses, this role coordinates and oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the environment health and safety program for the commercial operations of Stryker. This professional will: * Work with businesses to ensure federal, state and local legislative compliance with EHS regulations. * Develop/implement EHS policies and standard operating procedures to ensure safety, illness and injury prevention for the commercial operations of the company, including radiation exposure, bloodborne pathogens, and other potential health and safety issues for employees calling on health care facilities. * Develop risk identification and reduction awareness and methods. * Develop/conduct EHS training for areas of responsibility. * Evaluate the effectiveness and compliance of the program through self-audits, product and regulatory changes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Assist in the design, development and implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety programs. This position requires coordination with other departments within Stryker. * Create and update environmental health and safety policies and procedures applicable to commercial operations and employees visiting customers in healthcare settings (injury and illness prevention, incident analysis, training, emergency response, ergonomics and contractor safety provide training and interpret and update SOPs). * Ensure compliance and coordinate with applicable businesses. * Support emergency management and disaster preparedness program. * Provide subject matter expertise and advice in EHS to support operational excellence with internal stakeholders. * Identify, implement and tracks necessary corrective actions in the root cause analysis of safety incidents and potential safety incidents. * Provide guidance for developing site EHS programs and processes including compliance with safety regulations and investigations of incidents. * Support the development of a LEAN management system by increasing safety awareness and performance improvement systems. * Build strong relationships with senior leaders within the business area(s) they support. Design and ensure through other EHS internal resources and external service providers delivery of strategies, objectives and programs to meet unique client business needs related to EHS compliance, risk mitigation/management and safety culture. * Be a visible and dynamic champion of EHS. Play a pivotal role in building the influence and impact of EHS as a strategic partner to the businesses. Provide technical and regulatory expertise to senior leaders to ensure that the businesses comply with applicable laws, conforms to company standards, and utilizes best industry practices to manage safety risks to people, property, and the environment. * Provide timely, accurate and relevant EHS data to enable business decisions within their business area(s). * May be required to serve as a Safety Officer during disaster/emergency response and recovery efforts. May be required to serve as EHS Advisor (technical expert) for the emergency response team during company-related emergencies. * Assess and audit practices to measure compliance with EPA, OSHA. Education and Special Training * Bachelor's degree in an EHS specialty, engineering, sciences or health-related field from accredited university required. * Professional certification (e.g. Certified Safety Professional or Manager, Certified Safety Manager, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) is preferred. * Project management experience or certification is preferred. Qualifications and Experience * Minimum of 8 years professional experience required. * Must have at least 3 years of experience in EHS or clinical experience in health care setting, in EHS or at Stryker. * EHS experience within health care, pharmaceuticals or medical devices strongly preferred. * Clinical or EHS experience with occupational exposures for sales reps calling on health care settings (e.g., radiation exposure, bloodborne pathogens) preferred. * Management of teams preferred. * Experience in development of policies, training materials and employment communication preferred. * Proven experience on developing trusted relationships with the business. * Practical experience with Lean/Six Sigma business process improvement methodology, including a belt certification, is strongly preferred. * Strong analytical skills, exceptional writing and interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and state/local programs for EHS. * Knowledge of process design and implementation, change control, auditing, SOP development, document management and risk management systems. * Knowledge of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 preferred. * Experience in GMP operations. * Experience in developing and executing training programs. * Demonstrated organizational, management and communication skills. * Proficient in MS Office and web-based applications.
