What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinate External Beam all clinical physics activities for the Radiation Oncology Department.

  • Calibration of Radiation Therapy machines for all energies and set ups used for accurate delivery of radiation dose to the patient.

  • Perform acceptance testing of new equipment.

  • Perform the quality assurance program set forth by the AAPM Task Group 40.

  • Maintain records and surveys required by the NYSDOH and JCAHO reviews.

  • Coordinate and supervise all maintenance and calibrations of physics instruments, personnel monitoring devices, radiation therapy linear accelerators, CT simulator and treatment planning computers.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all periodic requirements regulated by Federal, State and other national protocol agencies are performed.

  • Develop new protocols and procedures.

  • Maintain monthly and annual quality assurance and calibration records for radiation therapy machine and CT simulator.

What We're Looking For

  • PhD or master's in medical physics.

  • Certified by either the ABR or ABMP in all branches of Medical Physics, with minimum 5 years of experience.
