Job Summary:

The Radiation Oncology Practice Manager is responsible for practice management of the radiation oncology physician practice.

The Radiation Oncology Practice Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction for services provided by the radiation therapy physician practice.

This includes accountability for quality of patient care, performance of the staff and the development and management of the budget. The manager is responsible for the orientation, education and development of the radiation practice staff including employees performing the clinical duties, pre-cert/referral process, coding, revenue cycle, patient registration, and billing functions. This includes the hiring, firing, performance evaluation and disciplinary actions of the staff.

This position also collaborates with other oncology management on annual strategy and budget projections and forecasts. Works closely with clinical leadership to provide high quality patient care including the development of quality improvement initiatives.

Education:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Management or related area.

Experience:

Required:

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in healthcare/business management.

Preferred:

Oncology Practice management experience.

The Radiation Oncology Practice Manager must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The Radiation Oncology Practice Manager must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures. This individual further contributes to the Oncology Center of Excellence through support of the philosophy and objectives.
