Salary: NegotiableDescription:We are seeking a qualified NGSSR Radar Technician to support shipboard radar systems in various shipyards in the Hampton Roads Area.Duties:
- Maintain and troubleshoot shipboard radar systems including general, surface search, and navigation radars.
- Perform preventative maintenance, utilizing technical documentation and parts support.
- Provide training, prepare technical reports, and document maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Adhere to shipboard safety procedures, encompassing electrical safety, electrical tag-outs, working aloft procedures, hazardous material handling, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
- Apply basic Navy Logistics Support principles such as configuration management, onboard allowance, and supply support.
- Familiarity with Change Requests & Engineering Change Proposals.
- Apply specialized field knowledge to execute standard tasks.
- Interpret blueprints, identify issues through troubleshooting, and implement solutions.
- Select appropriate mathematical methods or formulas to resolve technical challenges.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting shipboard radar systems.
- Proficient in shipboard safety procedures including electrical safety, electrical tag-outs, working aloft procedures, hazardous material handling, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Familiarity with Change Requests & Engineering Change Proposals.
- Knowledge of Navy Logistics Support elements including configuration management, onboard allowance, and supply support.
