Job Title: Radar Technician LCS/ SPY/SPS Location: Virginia Beach, VA Required Clearance: Secret Salary: NegotiableDescription:We are seeking a Radar Technician to provide essential support for shipboard radar systems across various shipyards in the Hampton Roads Area.Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and troubleshoot shipboard radar systems, focusing on air search radars such as SPS-48/49, SPY-1, USMC TPS-59 TPS-80.
Perform preventative maintenance using technical documentation and provide parts support.
Conduct training sessions and prepare technical reports documenting maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
Adhere to shipboard safety protocols including electrical safety, tag-out procedures, working at heights, hazardous material handling, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Implement Navy Logistics Support practices including configuration management, onboard allowance, and supply support.
Apply knowledge of Change Requests and Engineering Change Proposals as required.
Utilize specialized field knowledge to perform standard tasks effectively.
Interpret blueprints, conduct troubleshooting to identify issues, and devise solutions using appropriate mathematical methods.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 6 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting shipboard radar systems, particularly air search radars like SPS-48/49, SPY-1.
Proficiency in shipboard safety procedures, including electrical safety, tag-out protocols, working at heights, hazardous material handling, and PPE usage.
Familiarity with Change Requests & Engineering Change Proposals.
Understanding of Navy Logistics Support elements such as configuration management, onboard allowance, and supply support.
Desired Qualifications: Preference for candidates with NEC Air Search Radar experience.
