Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Radar Lead Systems Engineer (LSE). In this role the Radar LSE will join the Sensors Space and Air Department product line overseeing the various engineering projects within the program and interacting with other technical members of the program team. The candidate will lead a radar development program by managing system analysis, requirements flow down & specification, interface design, and software development for the radar system.

The program's radar Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for the engineering execution of key technical elements within the program. You will establish and manage the program vision, strategy, and goals to align the program with the customer and facilitate conflict resolution; ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across all IPTs, CPTs, and disciplines within the Program; and is the primary program technical POC with the customer senior technical counterparts. This is a great opportunity to participate in a large Raytheon Technologies radar development team.

This is an On-Site role in Dallas, Texas

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team, requiring experience across all design engineering disciplines, technical supplier management, business development, and program leadership.

  • Ensure overall Engineering execution within the program, having decision authority over Engineering activities.

  • Conduct Engineering Business Program Reviews (EBPRs) and Engineering Program Reviews (EPRs) at authorized level.

  • Support Program Management Reviews (PMRs) for all Engineering

  • Manage overall budget and schedule for program Engineering tasks, working closely with the engineering discipline organizations to review program execution on a periodic basis to ensure meeting schedule and cost.

  • Develop executable Estimates at Completion (EAC) for the program in collaboration with the responsible Engineering Cost Account Managers.

  • Maintain staffing forecasts are accurate and up to date, and work with Engineering discipline organizations to ensure appropriate staffing is assigned - local, distributed and/or supplier.

  • Provide oversight and review all program metrics for engineering, ensuring application of Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) across the program as a means for measuring technical progress and assessing risk.

  • Establish a strong technical baseline with disciplined change management, while operating in a rapid development environment.

  • Oversee and manage engineering Risks and Opportunities across the program, leveraging the enterprise to mitigate key risks and capture opportunities.

  • Establish effective engineering management of suppliers in accordance with subcontractor statement of work, requirements specifications, and engineering processes.

  • Identify and exploit synergies across programs and across the Enterprise.

  • Provide accurate and timely status reports to Program and Engineering organizations.

  • Communicate with executive leadership, customers and multidisciplinary teams of system design professionals including systems, electrical, mechanical, software, and logistics engineers

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience with specific experience in the following areas:

  • Experience as a Lead Systems, Design Engineer, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or Program Engineer

  • Airborne and radar sensing systems design

  • Use-case development and operational analysis

  • Integration, test, and system qualification

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) including Control Account Management (CAM) Systems and design engineering experience

  • An active DoD Top Security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools

  • Radar signal processing and digital communications experience

  • Factory establishment and production experience in commercial and/or defense industries

  • Capture Management and Program Management leadership experience

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
