Summary of the Job:## Responsible for the safe manipulation of radiographic equipment, positioning of patients, use of radiation protection devices, selection of technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality radiographs, the tracking of patient studies and PACS acquisition of the study performed. This employee may be asked to perform any other delegated tasks related to the proper function of the Radiology Department.



Minimum Qualifications:


Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.# A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology, state licensed in radiology by the LSRT. BLS through the American Heart Association required.

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages. Must possess strong guest relations skills.


Physical Demands:


Must possess good physical health.# Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.# Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.# Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Physical Effort required:######## Constant (67%-100%) # lifting, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%)- carrying, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, talking Occasionally (1%-33%)- climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching

VIEW JOBS 2/26/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-05-27T00:00 Looking for a Radiology Ultrasound Tech-PRN Job Duties * Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following: IV and contrast administration, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, operating room Radiology, trauma Radiology, GI Radiology, outpatient and inpatient diagnostic Radiology, myelography and arthrography. * Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. * Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain x ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff. * Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies. * Record amount and type of film exposed; label film with identifying information; sort as required. * Consult with lead x-ray tech and radiologist to ensure compliance with established standards of quality. * Process film in accordance with standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition. Required Skills * Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology. * AART Registered and CPR Current. * Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations. * Must possess independent decision making skills. * Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. * Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families. * Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
