Head of Commercial Controllership


Reporting into the Global Head of Finance for the Sales & Account Management organization, this position manages a global team which is responsible for operational and technical controllership of the sales and revenue (~$6bn) for Refinitiv, and ensuring compliance and enhancing data accuracy, policies and procedures. It requires close interaction with finance teams across the organization along with the regional sales teams at a senior level.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and control of the monthly Sales and Revenue close in full compliance with internal and external reporting standards and policies.

  • Collaboration with central and regional finance teams to ensure full transparency and understanding of monthly financial performance.

  • Coordination and control of cross region transactions including alignment with indirect and direct tax departments.

  • Engagement with relevant sales functions to rigorously pursue and improved data quality, process and consistency at source.

  • Leverage all sources of management information to ensure a good understanding and expectation of business outcomes driving relevant variance analysis to targets / plan with clarity.

  • Understanding, input and control of complex deals including deals leveraging Platform Access Commercials (PAC)

  • Coordination with commissions function to streamline and align data to the incentive scheme along with resolving any relevant issues.

  • Evaluate and evolve systems, policies, processes and workflow, ensuring full engagement with relevant stakeholders and driving change and adoption.

  • Management and development of global team.

  • Global standardization and simplification of all sales and revenue accounting and reporting processes.


  • A minimum of 15 years work experience with some related work experience in controllership.

  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent). Master's degree, preferably a concentration in Finance

  • Commercially minded able to influence change across finance and related functions

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational and project managements abilities

  • Proactive energetic approach and able to challenge the status quo

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Team player with a proven track record of developing teams and talent

  • A high level of interpersonal skills and an ability to function effectively as part of a global team that coordinates, works and reports out of different geographies

Location: NYC or Stamford a preference, London a secondary choice
