The Senior Microsoft Exchange Administrator is responsible for day-to-day operations of the email, web and application environment, maintaining a disciplined and stable environment for development, testing and production. The Senior Microsoft Exchange Administrator is also responsible for insuring scalability, performance and availability of the email, web and application infrastructure. This position provides technical leadership to the Application Server Engineering team and provides the highest level of support for email web and application issues in the production and development environments. This position also evaluates alternative solutions, provides recommendations and identifies risk.

  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

  • Serve as the liaison between development, DBA, implementations and other infrastructure teams.

  • Serve as the highest level of web and application support for identified issues

  • Enhance system performance through implementation of third party solutions and review of internally developed applications

  • Coordinate and perform application implementations during non-business hours

  • Evaluate new technologies to enhance performance and efficiency

  • Provide technical expertise and consulting to development teams

  • Review and optimize overall hardware configurations, and develop plans to integrate new hardware and software components

  • Assist in process definition, documentation and continuous improvement in best practices

  • Develop and deliver internal training in selected relevant topics

  • Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the Ascensus application environment

  • Excellent consultative, verbal/written communication skills, analytical ability

  • Problem solving, initiative, judgment.

Preferred technology skills:

  • Enterprise email delivery:

  • Experience with IMAP, SMTP, POP and related technologies

  • Exchange 2013 administration and troubleshooting

  • Exchange 2013 Powershell cmdlets and scripting. Importing, exporting PST's. Migrating email.

  • Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016, experience and troubleshooting

  • Experience with Enterprise Vault

  • Knowledge of DMARC, SPF and DKIM

  • Email Content filtering experience.

  • Large enterprise suites:

  • Skype for Business / Lync or other instant messaging experience

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Content Management

  • Experience across many platforms, including:

  • .Net Framework

  • C# or VB.Net

  • ASP.Net

  • Cold Fusion MX

  • SQL Server and/or Sybase database

  • Messaging & middle tier

  • WebSphere

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  • 7 years' experience in IT, including requirements analysis, design, development and testing of client server applications, application interfaces, graphical user interfaces and databases

  • Experience with a variety of database platforms, operating system platforms and application development including MS SQLServer, Sybase, Visual Basic and Windows 2003

  • Experience with Cold Fusion, .Net and IIS web servers

  • Excellent organization skills, proven analytical abilities and decision making skills

  • Ability to participate in scheduled non-business hour implementation and maintenance activities

  • Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call technical support schedule

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
