This position's key responsibilities are to work with our Defined Benefit (DB) staff, primarily pension consultants, to perform administrative duties in an effective and efficient manner.
Essential Job Functions
Assist DB administrators with data entry of all kinds including setting up the plans in ASC, our document and valuation system.
Assist in data entry for both the DB plan and DC plan when it is a combination plan.
Complete an initial review of census and financial data to make sure it coincides with the information we have on hand from last year. Review for new or missing employees, check the financial data report for any information that does not match up or is questionable. Discuss findings with administrator and/or client/advisor/accountant.
Assist administrators with preparation of all annual government filings.
If applicable, download the asset information from a vendors site and silo it so it is ready for the administrator.
Following up missing data for DB plans (including signing credentials) and unsigned forms by collaborating with the DB administrators. Follow ups are done by phone and email.
Package Annual Reports, make follow-up call to client to confirm delivery method, send the report and confirm receipt.
Back-up to complete and file Forms 8955 electronically for our administrators and confirm the filing was sent, silo the necessary information.
Package plan documents to be sent to clients for our DB plans.
Scan and upload all parts of the DB plans' annual reports, plan documents, etc. and upload to the client portal when necessary. Prepare Benefit Packages for DB plans' terminated employees. Assist administrators in running the benefit numbers.
Maintain documentation of distributions prepared during the year to prepare Forms 1099.
Assist administrators with the administrative tasks involved in DB plan terminations and monitor the progress.
Assist DB administrators with answering IRS Inquiries
Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
