Enoch Cobb Early Learning Center is Barnstable Public Schools' Inclusive Preschool Program

This is a temporary assignment to cover a leave of absence at the beginning of the 2024-2025 SY.

JOB GOAL:
To provide instruction to children ages 3-5 who are typically developing and/or have developmental delays in all areas of the curriculum, socialization, and problem solving in order to help them make progress toward Individualized Education Plan goals and prepare them for Kindergarten success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Massachusetts Educator License in one of the following areas considered:
Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, PreK-8, Teacher of Students with Significant Disabilities, All levels, Early Childhood Teacher of Students With and Without Disabilities, PreK-2
Master's Degree in Special Education preferred.
Three or more years working with young children with disabilities including Autism Spectrum
Disorder preferred.
Demonstrated diagnostic and prescriptive ability with varied learning styles.
Positive attitude and enthusiasm for teaching young children and commitment to professional growth
REPORTS TO: Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES:
Plans and implements differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all children in a mixed-age classroom consistent with Massachusetts Common Core, Massachusetts Tiered System of Supports and Individualized Education Plans.
Monitors, record, and reports student progress through the collection and analysis of data via checklists, observations, portfolios, formal and informal assessments.
Acts as Case Manager for students with special needs; developing and implementing comprehensive Individualized Education Plans including goals and benchmarks, writing progress reports, participating in team meetings and other special education paperwork deemed necessary by the Principal or Special Education Coordinator - keeping consistent with State regulations and timelines.
Works collaboratively with the School Psychologist to establish and maintain standards of individual student behavior using positive behavior interventions and supports.
Participates in on-going collaboration with colleagues to improve services and instruction for students within the program and to assist with Kindergarten transition.
Provides daily oversight and direction for Personal Care Assistants (PCA's or Teacher's Assistants).
Assists with the identification and evaluation of children with disabilities (IDEA Child Find mandate), by planning and participating in screening sessions for students suspected of having a disability and typically developing peers; and completing written developmental observations for students who are referred for evaluations.
Participates in a variety of on-going parent-teacher communication and periodic community outreach events.
Participates in and supports efforts of the Parent Teacher Association.
Seeks continued professional development by participating in district and community professional development opportunities, staff meetings, Professional Learning Community meetings and more.
Cooperates with administrators to support classroom, school, and district goals.
Other duties deemed necessary by the Principal.
