Quotations Specialist (Hybrid)

OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to provide competitive quotes leading to sales with acceptable margins.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

• Prepares informal & formal quotes for domestic customers within assigned territories.

• Determines the best discount strategy by using tools such as the pricing model and product matrix.

• Researches and evaluates historic quote history, win rates, and margin.

• Achieves desirable quote win rate while maintaining acceptable profit margin.

• Responds promptly to customer quote requests to achieve response 24-hour turnaround.

• Completes cross-reference competitor item matching to CBS items.

• Collaborates with Account and Product Managers to gain competitive edge.

• Maintains customer quote strategy database.

• Submits finalized quotations directly to the customer and/or Account Manager

• Follows-up with unassigned, unconverted, open quote opportunities.

• As required, obtains required quote approval per department policy.

• Articulates major quote opportunities & win successes to Sales Management.

• Addresses general quote inquiries from customers.

• Follows oral & written instructions, company & department policy & best practices.

• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma required. 4-year college degree preferred.

Experience: 3 - 5+ years direct experience with pricing, estimating, customer relations, and/or sales support.

Specialized Training/Skills:

• Self-motivated team player with excellent time management skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to effectively utilize company software programs.

• Experience with JD Edwards a plus.

• Proficient Excel skills including formulas.

• Ability to meet deadlines.
