Position Summary

The Quick Lane Manager is responsible for the customer-focused and efficient operation of the dealership's service department. The service manager will operate the department at maximum production, controlling costs, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relationships, setting and obtaining sales objectives and maintaining service records. The Service Manager is responsible for ensuring a customer experience that meets or exceeds the manufacturer's customer satisfaction index and for monitoring and improving customer satisfaction. The service manager also carries out this responsibility by building customer relationships, creating a good work environment and properly managing the assets of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to management any circumstances that compromise the integrity of the dealership

  • Work with the parts department as appropriate to ensure proper stocking of high use parts

  • Collect accounts receivable for service work

  • Obtain competitive bids on all tools, equipment, sublet repairs, supplies, etc.

  • Quality check completed jobs

  • Ensure that all the necessary shop equipment is in proper working condition

  • Ensure that customer inconveniences, complaints and misunderstandings are dealt with fairly and quickly

  • Ensure that proper service sales techniques are being used

  • Meet with fixed operations director and general manager at least once a month to review current service department performance.

  • Communicate with customers before issues arise and get involved in escalated customer issues

  • Maintain accurate records and insure warranty parts retention as outlined, following all manufacturer requirements as outlined in manufacturer and company policy and procedures manuals

  • Maintain the highest possible standards of workmanship, advise technicians of service CSI on a monthly basis

  • Serve as liaison with factory representatives in the absence of fixed operations or service director

  • Monitor staffing levels, compensation levels and department turnover

  • Properly document employee behavior that may result in punitive job actions such as termination

  • Assure proper repair order flow to satisfy warranty/dealership/business office requirements

  • Maintain reporting systems required by general manager, company and manufacturer

  • Direct and schedule the activates of all department associates

  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all service department staff

  • Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service and parts operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know act, etc.

  • Maintain customer satisfaction index rating above

VIEW JOBS 9/17/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-12-16T00:00 Job Summary: Oversee maintenance operations within any region(s) assigned to ensure all shops operate in an efficient, safe and proper manner. Provide leadership to all Maintenance Managers and Shop Supervisors. Enforce all company required maintenance programs and best practices to ensure all customer service commitments are met. Essential Functions: * Coordinate with local Maintenance Manager and General Manager to ensure that day-to-day shop operations are efficient and adequate. . * Provide maintenance oversight and direction for all shop locations within the area. * Ensure all shops follow the established maintenance policies, procedures and best practices. * Ensure that all equipment is in safe and operable condition. * Ensure that TMW is used to track all internal and external equipment maintenance and repairs. * Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and that all shop duties are performed in a safe manner. * Ensure the maintenance and appearance of the shop facility and grounds meet company standards. * Review actual monthly maintenance expenses as compared to budget for all locations and work with local General Managers to explain and or correct deficiencies. * Periodically review VCR's for compliance and completeness. * Periodically review all maintenance and repairs to ensure they are being done in within time guidelines and address discrepancies with Maintenance Manager or Shop Supervisor. * Provide feedback on shop operations to Maintenance Managers/Shop Supervisors and General/Facility Managers. * Provide on-the-job training when needed. * Ensures safety lane is consistently used. * Periodically review road call log. * Recommend when equipment should be replacement and when additional equipment may be needed to ensure seamless service. * Provide technical assistance to each operating division in the following areas: a. Equipment selection, repairs and maintenance b. Budget preparations c. Equipment performance and operating cost d. Warranty repairs and negotiations e. Rebuild or replace decisions f. Maintenance personnel selection, training, evaluation and wage scales g. Parts and component purchase decisions (i.e. type, pricing, etc.) h. Accident prevention and safety practices involving vehicles, stationary equipment and shop areas. Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements: * Two (2) or four (4) year degree in business or related discipline preferred * Five (5) or more years experience in fleet maintenance and management * Waste industry experience preferred * Combination of education and/or experience Waste Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
