We are seeking an exceptional quantitative researcher with a strong background in data analysis, statistical methods and financial markets to join our team. In this role, you will navigate the full research process and design sophisticated models to trade securities in the fixed income credit markets.


  • Developing systematic trading strategies, from idea generation and data collection to analysis and model creation.

  • Applying advanced modeling techniques and market knowledge to large, novel or unconventional data sets.

  • Opening opportunities to pursue previously unexplored research topics.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of Quantitative Research experience

  • Strong Fixed Income Credit experience

  • An excellent academic record with a bachelors or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline.

  • Strong programming skills (Python preferred).

  • Experience working with large data sets.

  • Ability to tackle in-depth research projects and communicate complex ideas clearly.

  • Innate curiosity, resourcefulness and attention to detail.

  • Prior experience in quantitative research and/or portfolio management in corporate bonds is required.

Job Summary: The Investment Grade Credit Products Sales group covers MUFG's institutional investor clients. Institutional investor clients include Insurance Companies, Banks, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, Central Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Endowments, Pensions, and others. Products include investment grade corporate bonds, crossover bonds, emerging market bonds, capital securities (AT1, hybrids, preferred securities) Team members work with traders, bankers, syndicate, strategists, and economists to tailor solutions for clients on a broad range of topics ranging from macroeconomic and relative value themes, to client's asset & liability management. Responsibilities: * Manage institutional investor client relationship across a range of credit products. * Close collaboration with Banking and Syndicate for business development. * Stay up to date with regulatory requirements and its impact on the business. * Work closely with other asset class teams to promote cross-selling across the firm. * Back up colleagues and work together as a team. * Work with mid-office and sales assistants to ensure that trades are captured and confirmed in a timely fashion. * On-board clients in coordination with the firm's credit, legal, compliance, and operations teams. * Recruit and help train new talent.
