Blackrock's Global Allocation Team is searching for an Associate who will take ownership of key analytics supporting a systematic investment process. The Associate will conduct quantitative research to improve existing alpha models/strategies, combine quantitative and fundamental views, and improve portfolio construction. They will work with other portfolio managers and investors to identify new systematic investing ideas and/or equity screening metrics for use by fundamental investors. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with an eye for detail and is seeking to develop skills in data science and investing.
Passion for applying software towards solving complex problems (experience with Python, Django, and or AngularJS a plus)
Understanding of statistical concepts, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, and practical experience working with large data sets.
Independent thinker with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong interest in finance and financial markets
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong understanding of the use of computational algorithms and techniques for analysis and reduction of large data sets.
Knowledge of SQL or experience working with relational database management systems
Knowledge of client/server communication architecture
