Job Summary

Blackrock's Global Allocation Team is searching for an Associate who will take ownership of key analytics supporting a systematic investment process. The Associate will conduct quantitative research to improve existing alpha models/strategies, combine quantitative and fundamental views, and improve portfolio construction. They will work with other portfolio managers and investors to identify new systematic investing ideas and/or equity screening metrics for use by fundamental investors. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with an eye for detail and is seeking to develop skills in data science and investing.

Key Qualifications

  • Passion for applying software towards solving complex problems (experience with Python, Django, and or AngularJS a plus)

  • Understanding of statistical concepts, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, and practical experience working with large data sets.

  • Independent thinker with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Strong interest in finance and financial markets

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong understanding of the use of computational algorithms and techniques for analysis and reduction of large data sets.

  • Knowledge of SQL or experience working with relational database management systems

  • Knowledge of client/server communication architecture

The new hire will work closely with the Managing Director, Portfolio Managers, Investment team, Investor Relations, Executive Assistant, and event team to assist in day-to day operation of the investment process and producing Trusted Insight’s Annual Conference.
