Strategic Enterprise Risk Management
Strategic Enterprise Risk Management (SERM) is a group that reports directly to the Chief Risk Office and that is responsible for a variety of strategic functions within Corporate Risk that includes risk reporting, risk governance, risk programs that oversee risk measurement and risk identification, strategic and reputational risk oversight, and risk optimization and strategy.
Enterprise Risk Reporting and Intelligence
Enterprise Risk Reporting and Intelligence (ERRI) is a newly formed group within SERM that is responsible for developing and managing board and executive management reporting on risks across the organization, and for developing strong risk analytics and intelligence capabilities to proactively identify and report on risk trends. The group consists of three broad teams Reporting Design and Execution, Risk Analytics and Intelligence, and Strategic Enterprise Risk Reporting Services.
The Reporting Design and Execution team will manage the periodic reporting process for the board, management and assigned regulatory reports. The Risk Intelligence and Analytics team will utilize a sophisticated risk data and analytics platform to analyze risk trends across the company using artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques as required. The Strategic Enterprise Risk Reporting Services team is a central team that supports all of SERM's data and reporting needs which includes the needs of the ERRI team and the Enterprise Risk programs. The group will also coordinate cross-functional efforts across front line and independent risk management organizations to continuously enhance risk reporting and analytics.
The current role reports to Head of Enterprise Risk Reporting and Intelligence (ERRI) until an Enterprise Risk Intelligence Manager is hired. This individual will be one of the key managers in the the Risk Intelligence and Analytics team and will help shape the vision and strategy for Risk Intelligence Platform and Data Repository to provide advanced data analytics and risk intelligence.
The Risk Intelligence team will utilize extensive risk domain knowledge and advanced quantitative methods to provide advance notice and assessment on emerging risks, identify forward looking risk drivers, and produce predictive risk modeling and monitoring. This role will partner with specific risk areas, leverage the Strategic Enterprise Risk Reporting Services team and Enterprise Information Technology to implement a Risk Intelligence Platform and Data Repository. The team will utilize sophisticated capabilities including artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques and skills as required.
Define vision, strategy, and roadmap for Risk Intelligence Platform and Data Repository for assigned risk areas both financial and non-financial risks
Establish thought leadership, develop prototypes (in-house solution or external vendor product), and drive data analytics solution using advanced quantitative modeling techniques to provide forward looking predictive risk modeling and monitoring tools from historical market data, risk reports, customer data, alternative data such as social media, sentiment data, news and reviews.
Produce a suite of risk intelligence reports and analytical insights that provide advanced notice and risk assessment of emerging risk as well as reputation impact analysis from internal and external events.
Build and manage a cross-functional team of specialists from multiple risk coverage areas and data science disciplines.
Partner with multiple risk areas, enterprise data management, and technology.
Leverage and collaborate with Strategic Enterprise risk reporting services team to implement risk intelligence platform and data repository.
Charlotte and San Francisco are the preferred locations, but also open to applicants from other Wells Fargo locations.
Other Desired Qualifications
8+ years of risk management experience.
8+ years of experience in quantitative modeling and data analysis.
4+ years of balanced management experience across risk oversight and quantitative analytics.
Exceptional problem-solver. Adept at dealing with ambiguity and simplifying complexity.
Proven track record of thought leadership and a self-starter
Ability to articulate and present to Senior Risk Leaders.
Demonstrated experience with quantitative analytics programming languages
