The analyst develops tactics that help our customers through difficult times while mitigating losses for the Bank. The Consumer Product Strategy Analyst must be able to work independently to develop recommendations that consider their research and analysis, the regulatory framework, and competing strategies.
The analyst must then utilize communication and influencing techniques to build consensus and drive implementation. This high visibility position offers a unique opportunity to interact with senior managers and drive significant business results.
The Secured and Specialty Strategies team leverages a combination of quantitative and coding skills to maximize ROI while maintaining operational quality and ensuring a positive customer experience. Analytics focus areas include:
Develop new and enhance existing Secured Product Collections Strategies
Improve operational processes to match a best in class environment
Perform analytics on products such as Auto, Specialty Vehicles, First Mortgage, Home Equity, Consumer Card, and Business Card
Responsible for using robust and diverse data to perform complex analysis to identify and improve product(s) level credit loss, profitability, performance forecasting and operational effectiveness and efficiency. While this position has no direct people management responsibilities, it does require the ability to interact with business partners both internal and external to the department.
This position requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business and technical topics, with an ability to independently drive strategic improvements. Key functions involve owning asset quality monitoring, identifying business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions, defining new strategies and delivering strategic enhancements. Communicates business trends, creates financial assessments and interprets analytics for senior management.
Proven experience at developing new technical skills. Detailed knowledge of data mining, financial statements, and business processes preferred. 3+ years Strategic Analysis experience preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills as demonstrated by 3+ years of experience
Quantitative analyst experience, including skills like data mining, forecasting, and statistics
Strong ability to prepare and leverage data in order to recognize business opportunity and drive results
Skilled with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
Proficient at written and oral communication, including presentation skills
4 year degree
2+ years programming and analytics experience with SAS/SQL, Python, or R
Experience working within the bank's data infrastructure (BACARDI, The W, SQL Server, etc.)
Experience with business case development/financial statements
Experience with process design/redesign (ex. Six Sigma, Agile project management)
Advanced Degree (MBA in Operations and/or Statistics)
Experience managing projects and maintaining project timelines with cross-functional contributors
Test/Control design and statistical analysis of results
Enterprise Role Description:
Responsible for performing complex analysis and modeling. Utilizes a variety of systems including, but not limited to Excel, Access, Visual Basic, SAS, and InfoQuest at an intermediary level.
Provides analytical support on various strategies to ensure company goals are met. Coordinates the production of performance reports and updates for senior management. May utilize established databases to provide statistical and financial modeling.
Analyzes portfolio trends, concerning risk, loss trends, marketing performance, portfolio dynamics, and bureau scoring criteria. Will participate in the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion and independent judgment. 2-5 years experience preferred.
