The Quantitative Research and Risk Analysis (QRRA) group is an integral part of the investment process at Loomis Sayles. The group provides quantitative tools and analysis across four dimensions:

Risk Awareness, Relative Value, Portfolio Construction and Product & Process. Reporting to and working closely with the Associate Director of Quantitative Research, the quantitative analyst should bring a strong background in quantitative and fundamental research in order to gain immediate credibility with the portfolio management teams. Primary Responsibilities:
Ability to engage fundamental investors with the goal of stimulating productive investment strategies based on systematic fundamental research and behavioral insights.Partner with key analysts/strategists to develop quantitative tools/models to support Corporate Credit investing.Own, maintain and enhance tools for Fixed Income portfolio construction and risk management

Participate in developing investment strategies, working closely with the Fixed Income investment and business development teams.Review relevant financial and accounting journals for new investment approaches.Publish white papers to support Fixed Income investment strategies.


An MS or a PhD in a quantitative field, with at least 5 years of investment experience in a quantitative equity/credit role.Experience in investing in Fixed Income markets; preferably the Corporate Credit market.Understanding of financial analysis necessary to support Credit investing.Experience using datasets from vendors like Capital IQ, Factset, Bloomberg and Barra a plus.Strong programming skills demonstrated through successful design, construction and delivery of models. Preferred tools include Python and Matlab.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Confident - able to take a stand, debate a position.Action-oriented - focused on conducting research that leads to actionable outcomes

VIEW JOBS 7/21/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-10-19T00:00 Quantitative Analyst (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts): Will be responsible for both financial and non-financial risk projections. This role provides support in the development, deployment, and documentation of tools and methods for assessing various aspects of credit, market, operational, liquidity, and compliance risk to State Street. Specific duties of the position include: build and enhance a variety of models or advanced analytical tools (e.g., liquidity, deposit, credit risk, interest rate risk) around different BAU purposes and regulations such as Basel III, CCAR, and ICAAP; creatively build analytical tools/models to assist non-financial risk analytics (e.g., operational risk, marketing analytics, and AML and compliance analytics) using conventional and non-conventional techniques (e.g., AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing); create actionable, automated reporting tools/packages to assist visualization of results, model implementation and quantitative analytics; perform sensitivity analyses to respond to ad hoc inquiries; and perform any other tasks as assigned to support modeling and analytics. Telecommuting is allowed per Company policy. Minimum requirements are: Master's degree or equivalent degree, in Business, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field; and 5 years of experience in quantitative modeling or model validation. Alternatively, will accept Ph.D. degree or equivalent degree, in Business, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field; and 3 years of experience in quantitative modeling or model validation Must have: Proven ability to understand, visualize and communicate quantitative results to expert and non-expert audiences; demonstrated experience with programming languages using one or two of the following: Python, R, Tableau, Excel and SQL with structured and non-structured data mart; demonstrated experience with Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques; working understanding of various regulations such as Basel III (Credit/Market/Operational Risk), CCAR, Stress Testing, and ICAAP; working knowledge of fixed income market or wholesale credit market, from quantitative credit or market risk experience; demonstrated experience in effectively articulating ideas, analysis and complex concepts to broad audiences; and competence and confidence to gain credibility and collaborate for success across the organization.
