Performs independent quantitative research as directed. Provides systematic updates to the business unit and assist other team members as necessary. Works with the team to efficiently apply results to various models.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Takes a leadership role in managing projects from inception to completion.
Goal oriented self-starter with a competitive desire to succeed in a team environment.
Works closely with the IT department to ensure efficient transfer of data between departments.
Assists in Underwriting as requested.
Assists with all other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in Insurance Pricing, Option-pricing, Statistical Modeling, or Econometrics is a plus.
R software experience is a plus.
Programming and/or Database management experience is a plus.
Experience in Crop Insurance is a plus.
Significant experience in Excel is a requirement.
Proven track record in ability to manage independent research.
Knowledge of or the ability to learn Rain and Hail's products, services, and systems.
Knowledge of or the ability to learn and use insurance industry and company terminology.
Ability to effectively communicate and maintain positive business relationships with company personnel.
Ability to remain calm and professional.
Ability to be organized and multitask.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work from verbal or written communication.
Ability to work flexible hours as required.
Ability to assist in other work-related areas as required.
