Responsibilities

  • Apply data science and analytics to make our products better and our organization more efficient
    • Develop new data science product features
    • Understand product and business performance
    • Help us scale our business in a cost-effective manner
    • Provide recommendations to increase operational efficiencies based on quantitative conclusions
  • Enable data-driven decision making across internal teams and actively collaborate with stakeholders to drive outcomes
    • Understand stakeholder challenges and translate them to quantitative problems we can solve
    • Dont just run the numbers; interpret what they mean and influence how we operate
    • Develop and track KPIs for our Billing, People, and Customer Experience teams
  • Be self-sufficient at extracting and manipulating data and reduce the need for manual processing of information
  • Add to Arcadias analytic horsepower

Requirements



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in quantitative field
  • 2-6 years of experience working as a Data Analyst
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to synthesize vague business needs into requirements that can be addressed analytically
  • Ability to extract data, perform a variety of analyses and translate findings into meaningful business recommendations
  • You like to teach others, have strong communication skills and experience briefing leadership on outcomes and recommendations
  • You are flexible and excited to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving needs
  • You love numbers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Python/R/SAS background
  • Tableau (or other BI tool) experience
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for running efficient teams

Typically interfaces with business managers or associates to develop a robust understanding of existing or future business processes and then incorporates that information into existing or new products. The work products will generally be in the form of complicated analysis or information delivery vehicles which are intended to inform or be integrated into business processes. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS * Interfaces effectively and collaboratively with business customers and other areas of the division to provide solutions for business problems. * Is considered an expert in their direct area of expertise and familiar with a variety of technical matters. * Engages in day to day development of highly technical product. * Often will be involved as a contributor to creative design, technical implementation, and user interfaces for team-developed products, leveraging the capabilities of other support teams as needed. * Contributes heavily to data product development as the primary developer. They are also expected to be users of data products developed by themselves or other team members. * Primary vetters of work completed by Quantitative Analysts Is. * Responsible for compliance with all levels of governance and best practices in implementation and automation. * Is proficient in at least three of the following items: working with data both institutional and outside of the company, building intuitive and meaningful reporting or analytic explorative items for personal or business consumption, being technically capable of full development cycle including continued automation and quality control best practices, and assisting business users with understanding of final product. * Contributes heavily toward the shared team research agenda as builders and context providers to users. * Meets often with business partners to ensure business concerns are being adequately addressed. EDUCATION * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required MINIMUM EXPERIENCE * 2 years of related experience SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS * Strong technical fundamentals in programming and experience with SAS, R, SQL, or other; data visualization tools such as Tableau. * Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct analysis independently to address complex business problems / issues. * Ability to systematically apply statistical and/or logical techniques to describe and evaluate data, including data mining and time series analysis, and to design intuitive data visualizations and key business metrics. * Detail-oriented with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and the energy to take on a growing portfolio of responsibilities. * Well-developed ability to provide insights from accurate analysis that are meaningful to technical and non-technical audiences. * Strong written and verbal communication skills in providing insights and/or explaining complex analysis to business partners * Cross-functional business skills, good facilitation skills with ability to interact with colleagues EMPLOYMENT As a condition of employment with Fannie Mae, any successful job applicant will be required to pass to successfully complete a background investigation.
