Under supervision, this position is responsible for performing inspection and testing of precision mechanical parts for workmanship and conformance to specifications and blueprints and recording the results of those inspections as required. Inspection responsibilities include in process, final inspection, receiving/shipping inspection and gauge control.
Competency & Minimum Certification Requirement:

1.Performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections on component parts and fasteners; assuring compliance with specifications and maintaining accurate records in accordance with quality control procedures and regulatory requirements.
2.Performs mechanical and dimensional inspection on components and assemblies per specifications and work instructions. Assures components and fasteners meet design and manufacturing specifications
3.Inspect all manufacturing documentation for completeness and accuracy (W.O., PCP's, Drawings, Test Data Cards etc.)
4.Generates Test Reports and DTS's as applicable.
5.Inspects incoming materials (Wire) for compliance with specifcations.
6.Interfaces with Quality Staff, Production Coordinators and Engineering to ensure compliance and that all issues are resolved.
7.Ensures tools and equipment meet standards and calibration requirements.
8.Provides assistance to auditors as required.
9.Complies with all environmental safe practices and regulations. Reads all MSDS' and possesses thorough knowledge of all oil and chemical labeling and storage requirements.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Able to read and interpret Blueprints, industrial specifications and standards, written work instructions and test plans..Experience with ISO/AS9100 procedures and audit plans.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparators, height gauges, zoom lenses, gauges,installation tools, test equipment, etc.) and visual inspection technqiues.
Experience operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and knowledge of alternative inspection methodologies preferred.
Ability to enter data into computer program.
Able to prepare samples according to the inspection and test plans.
Able to read, interpret and follow instructions written in English
Strong basic shop math skills; geometry helpful.
Must be detail oriented.
Photocopies and/or scans documents for electronic files
Proficient computer skills (MS Office)
Uses measuring and/or inspection Equipment(micrometers, calipers, comparator, Installation tools, zoom lenses, test equipment)
Thorough knowledge of measuring skills
