As a Quality Technician (Level DOE), you will be responsible for measuring, inspecting, and auditing parts, machines, and/or processes. You will be responsible for compiling data, generating reports, and developing tools to allow easy use and understanding of information that is used to improve quality and reduce cost. You will execute elements of the quality engineering function.
Role & Responsibility
Quality Lab
Knowledgeable in the technology and systems used in the quality lab to validate conformance to specifications
Understanding of prints, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing best practices
Able to learn programming of measurement equipment
Understands requirements for calibrated equipment
Understanding of tooling function and calibration
Inspection Execution
Work with quality engineering, design and manufacturing engineering to determine if product or component meets specifications. Complete inspections and provide summarized results that are easy to understand. When parts are not in compliance, investigate and recommend modifications to parts or processes which assure compliance
Review and recommend modifications to preliminary engineering designs for purpose of quality and cost
Finished Goods Audits
Quality Analytics
Participate in vendor reviews, audits and certification
Be aware of trends and developments in product design and manufacturing processes that can be used to impact quality and cost. Participate in the planning and application of these trends and developments
Red Tag Execution
Participate in the identification, evaluation, communication, and disposition of non-conforming components or product. Recommend and implement improved process controls where appropriate
Investigate manufacturing problems, measure parts and make recommendations to resolve and/or correct such problems
Job Requirement
High School Diploma/Equivalent
Extensive knowledge of MS Excel
Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Project
Experience with machining, grinding or rotors advantageous
Metrology competence
Basic computer skills
Ability to follow written instructions
