Join us as a Quality Tech II in our location in Sanford, NC facility.

You will be performing quality control inspections, checks and tests during the manufacture of products. Prepare and maintain records and reports related to testing, troubleshooting and other assigned activities.

  • The anticipated hourly pay for this role is: $22.00 hr. plus 8% of shift premium for working the night shift. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be determined by considering demonstrable level of experience, skills, knowledge, and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

More details about the opportunity:

  • Has demonstrated and has shown proficiency as determined by the DQE in all Range 1 activities:

  • Calibration

  • Control Plan Compliance

  • PPAP support

  • Drawing/specification understanding.

  • Performance of Gage R & R experiments

  • Can additionally perform with Non-Conforming Materials Procedure duties:

  • Initiation of Supplier or Internal Corrective Action Reports.

  • Monitor PPM of suppliers and alert DQE of non-normal or pre-defined out of control process shifts in data.

  • Making initial supplier contacts for interim/immediate containment activities, including preparation of defect information, % defects, lot number information

  • Executing disposition activities, such as coordination with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and supplier, RMA/RGA# information for preparation of returning materials, movement of materials from non-Conforming area to Operation for scrapping or returning material to production.

  • Can complete execute at least 2 Quality Engineering Supportive document control activities by:

  • Maintaining lower levels of QA process documentation (work instructions, forms, quality records, control plans) internal to the department. (Production Books after qualified to run - Q.I.s (Injection only) or QA Technician to ensure all books are present, but they need to be controlled properly)

  • In Injection Molding or other Department, put together Critical to Quality/black books, quality packet for production control, maintain bin system for every part number (Injection) or controlled sample area.

  • File quality records (Material Certifications, Inspection reports, Control Plan)

  • Initiate Product Change Order (PCO) documentation and provide information to DQE on changes requested.

  • Can complete additional documents in the PPAP package such as:

  • Generating and updating Process Flow Diagram, Control Plan & QCI (Quality Control Instruction).

  • Perform other support activities as needed (dimensional layouts, capability studies, Gage R&R, etc.) with brief instructions from DQE.

  • Write Metrology Lab Dimensional Requests for PPAP verification and/or non-conforming Problem-Solving activity.

  • Can perform basic device calibration checks, Calipers, Micrometers, Weight Scales:

  • To determine if a gage or measurement recall is needed.

  • Help maintaining all measuring devices always functioning properly.

  • Provide report of gages used and verification for issues during problem solving investigation.

  • Can run a program on DCC CMM machine with brief instructions from Metrology Technician or Manager.

  • Can contribute and participate in Problem Solving activities in addition to non-Conforming activities with some or little direction from DQE:

  • Determine root cause and containment independent from DQE.

  • Document steps of interim and permanent actions recommended and actual.

  • Identify variables in process or product and document the required controls whether it is in response to a defect or proactive measures.

Position hours/shifts:

2nd shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Monday through Fri (Plus overtime and weekends if needed)

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting, and lowering weights up to 50lbs. Steel toed shoes are required on the distribution floor.
