  • Looking for Internal Candidates within IDEX

Role Summary:

Under the direction of the Quality Engineer, the Quality Technician will be

the primary liaison between customer and plant quality issues and concerns.

With a proactive approach, the Quality Technician will investigate quality

issues and develop measures and/or create procedures that will eliminate

repetitive failures. The incumbent will understand and follow ISO

requirements, 8D problem solving and assist with plant quality audits.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Acts as liaison between Manufacturing and Quality relative to customerspecifications, customer quality requirements and customer problems.

  • Monitor all manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations,to ensure that processes are being followed and short cuts are not beingtaken, jeopardizing the quality of our product.

  • Continually strive to improve: testing methods, tooling, and equipmentthrough statistical sampling, that will ensure adequate quality in ourmanufactured product.

  • Zeiss CMM Conduct programming and checks to ensure conformity ofproduct.

  • Review customer complaints, analyze returns and make recommendations forcorrective action.

  • Monitor Supplier performance and provide follow up actions by attendingthe MRB.

  • Open Follow Up and Closing Supplier Corrective Action (SCAR's).

  • Assist with Supplier Audits and maintaining Supplier Quality System.

  • Review statistical data and present in a graphical format. Assist plantsin implementation of statistical methods and quality improvement programs

Secondary Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in conducting annual plant audits and systems surveys.

  • Update and augment group Quality Assurance procedures and systems.

  • Maintain GageTrak and ensure calibrations are up to date.

  • Send gages for repair and calibration.

  • Follow up on RMA/Customer repair reviews.

  • Work with engineering to develop simple and efficient methods of testingnew product lines.

  • Provide support as deemed necessary by management to allow the QualityDepartment to function efficiently.

  • Remain flexible with daily activities to handle emergency issues as theyarrive.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Quality Engineer.

Qualifications:

Experience and Background:

  • Five years experience in manufacturing.

  • Must have working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes andprinciples (ISO) industry standards.

  • Requires experience in product and process failure analysis and anunderstanding of quality techniques such as SPC, CMM, GD&T etc.

  • Must be skilled in use of personal computers with emphasis on analyticalsoftware.

  • Must be skilled to work with team(s) and collaborate with other functionsand shop floor employees.

  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, training and leadershipskills.

  • Must understand quality techniques.

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-06T00:00 The Testing Technician reports to the Test Lab Supervisor and is responsible for setting up and administering testing procedures through the appropriate engineering specifications. S/he will be able to write informal test reports, as well as perform and document laboratory test equipment maintenance as necessary. S/he will assist in the development of new test procedures to meet internal or customer test requirements. S/he will have working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, electronics, and basic analog circuits. S/he will operate new or modified test equipment and will utilize it efficiently to meet established completion dates. In addition to these functions s/he will be able to thoroughly evaluate the performance and characteristics of parts at the completion of testing. This individual must be able to communicate well with others, and must have a creative/problem-solving disposition. Thoroughness and accuracy are crucial to the successful accomplishment of the job requirements for this function. Knows and understands the current specifications of the Quality Policy and Procedures and contributes to the achievement of the quality objectives. CRITICAL SKILLS: Technical: Ability to use electronic measurement transducers, signal conditioning and read out equipment, as well as basic knowledge in the set-up and operation of mechanical and hydraulic machinery. Knows how to read blueprints & knowledge of current quality specifications. Interpersonal: Communication (verbal, written), listening. Organizational: Multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem-solving, time management. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Possess at minimum, a 2 year accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent, with an automotive background preferred.
