Location: Ridgeville, SC

Shift: 1st Shift - 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Overtime may be required, potentially up to 9 to 10 hours, and occasional weekends as needed)

Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Metal Finisher with a keen eye for detail to join our team in Ridgeville, SC. This position primarily focuses on inspection tasks, ensuring the highest quality standards for our finished products. While prior experience in metal finishing is preferred, candidates with automotive body shop experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Function

• Perform thorough inspections of metal components and surfaces before and after painting, identifying and documenting defects with precision.

• Utilize knowledge of Class A surface standards to assess and evaluate product quality, ensuring adherence to specifications.

• Collaborate with production teams to develop and recommend techniques for defect rework without the use of fillers, maintaining the integrity of the finished surface.

• Train and mentor colleagues, including press line operators, assembly workers, quality inspectors, and third-party personnel, on defect recognition and surface requirements.

• Document all rework activities accurately and comprehensively, following company standards and procedures.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, in alignment with 5S principles, to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of one year of experience in metal finishing, with a focus on automotive body shop work preferred.

• Familiarity with various materials, including aluminum and stainless steel.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle defects in surface finishes.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing production demands.

• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, perform repetitive tasks, and multitask effectively.
