POSITION PURPOSE:* Inspects for and promote cGMP and SOP compliance in production and the warehouse. Reviews documents for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
  • Inspects production facility and personnel for cGMP and SOP compliance. Inspects work area for cleanliness, organization, possible cross contamination issues, dress code, proper equipment and utensil use, storage, etc. Notifies proper personnel of non-compliance and follows up for correction. * Inspects warehouse facility and personnel for cGMP and SOP compliance. Notifies proper personnel of non-compliance and follows up for correction. * Inspects documentation for completion, accuracy and compliance with SOP's. These include manufacturing log books, batch sheets, weighing printouts, labels, etc. * May assist in investigations of quality issues. * Maintains a QA log book in the Orange facility for all daily notes and occurrences. * Inspects and releases equipment for cleanliness prior to the manufacturing of products. * Assists in employee training, including cGMP's, SOP's, HACCP, personal hygiene, dress code. * Completes additional tasks and projects as assigned by management.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* Minimum: High School Diploma, GED or Technical School Diploma. * First shift: 0-2 years of inspection experience in a production facility. * All other shifts: 1-3 years of inspection experience in a production facility.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* General Knowledge of the food manufacturing process. * Ability to work with all levels of employees in a productive manner. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated working knowledge of cGMP regulations. * Must be able to complete forms and write in a legible manner. * Ability to multi-task and bring tasks to completion. * Must be computer literate and able to learn how to use the company's computer system. * Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. * Must be able to perform general math including percentages. * Must have good attention to detail. * Problem solving abilities.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:* NoneTRAINING REQUIREMENTS:* Sexual Harassment Prevention* SOPs as required. * On going cGMP training to stay current with all areas required by the company. * Any other recommended/required training.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and walk about the building. * May be required to use a pallet jack to move product about the building. * May be required to push and or pull carts with wheels containing product being moved about the building. * Moderate physical effort required. * Continuous mental and visual attention required. * Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and walk about the building. * Regularly required to climb fixed stairs to access loading platforms. * Regularly required to maintain balance while performing job tasks that may be in awkward bending and stretching positions. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Fine manual motor dexterity required to complete forms and other paperwork.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:* Lab coats/uniforms when on the production floor. * Safety Glasses when on the production floor. * Gloves as required.* "Dust" masks as needed/required. * Any other PPE as required/recommended.WORK ENVIRONMENT:* Works in an assembly facility with air borne particles.OTHER:* Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.Nearest Major Market: New HavenNearest Secondary Market: Hartford

Study and comprehend all policies, procedures and operational guidelines set by the management team. This position is responsible for conducting technical laboratory support services in performing a variety of sample preparations, testing and analysis, which includes compliance requirements, and workplace safety. Responsibilities * Prepares media, reagents and stains. Computes and measures quantity. * Ensures orderly and environmentally correct storage of media, reagents, supplies, samples and equipment. * Ensures technically correct cleaning, sterilization and solvent treatment of equipment. * Conducts laboratory tests and analyses. * Operates and maintains various laboratory equipment. * Requisitions, inspects and distributes laboratory supplies and equipment. * Records information on manual/computerized records, logs and related requests for analysis, shipping/transporting samples, ordering supplies/equipment, and status of water supply system. * Packs and ships, picks up or delivers supplies, samples and equipment. * Must follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes the safe and proper operation of any/all applicable machinery, instrumentation, and equipment. * Understand and meet daily goals. * Work as part of a team to meet analytical schedules. * Employee may also be responsible for monitoring production line and collecting samples for analysis. * Follow SOP and standard analytical procedures to meet Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices compliance. * Good communication skills, verbal and written, with co-workers and management. * Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area at the end of the assigned shift. * Capable of working with hazardous chemicals and is able to identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident. * Flexibility and the ability to shift work schedule according to production needs. * Work is performed with supervision from a technical superior. * Performs routine, specific laboratory activities in accordance with established laboratory practices and procedures * Conducts a variety of standardized tests and analyses in accordance with established methods and procedures while ensuring quality control and time constraints are met. * Ensures time critical and technically correct sample/specimen preparation and testing. * Operates and maintains increasingly complex equipment. * Prepares and performs quality control checks. * Records sample/specimen/test information such as test results, type of test, observations and laboratory activities. * Other duties as assigned Qualifications * Associate or 4 year degree preferred * Relevant college courses in biology, chemistry, or physics * Prior Laboratory experience * Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees * Skill in basic mathematics, laboratory testing and analysis, in laboratory practices and procedures in area of discipline. * Knowledge or laboratory practices, procedures, and terminology, chemistry, proper sample handling, preservatives, and storage, inventory control procedures, principles and practices of quality control, and proper data reporting. * Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals * Understanding & adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures. * Ability to conduct routine tests, prepare media and reagents, compute correct amounts and measure ingredients, maintain accurate records, communicate effectively, and establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and email * Ability to perform precise measurements and mathematical computations through algebra.
