Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with Quality metrics recording and reporting, evaluation of nonconforming product, control plan development or modification, Quality Alert development and issuing, gage instruction development, Tier meeting support, Core team support, Layered Process Audit system support, statistical analysis support, Supplier Quality issues, and assist the Quality Engineers as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

  • Ensure that the processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained. Report to management the performance of the quality management system within the unit and the need for improvement through Internal Audits and Management Reviews.

    Maintain revision history of and/or development of needed procedures, work instructions, forms and records. Oversee and coordinate the following activities: document control, internal audits, Management Review, and on-going system improvements.

  • Administer QMS training at new hire orientation or other settings to ensure the compliance of all personnel to the QMS processes.

Qualifications

  • This position requires an Associate Degree along with two years' experience in production or quality, along with ISO9001:2015 application knowledge/experience. Working knowledge of advanced mathematics, including statistical techniques, SPC, Capability Analysis and Gage R&R.

    Good problem solving skills are important. Must know basic inspection concepts, how to read blueprints and GD&T information. Good computer skills are needed.

    The incumbent must have good communication skills, both verbal and written as well as interpersonal skills. Must possess the ability to work effectively and maintain a professional composure with other employees.

About the Job This position is responsible for performing general highway maintenance duties that keep INDOT assets in good working condition to ensure customer satisfaction. Highway Technicians perform snow and ice removal and related maintenance duties by operation of snow plow and other winter operations duties as required. Traffic maintenance duties, such as repairing and installing traffic signs and pavement markings, are also required job duties for this position. A CDL is required for this position. A Day in the Life * Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures * Operates basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain, repair, and clean highways and right-of-ways * Moves and loads supplies and materials * Winter operations duties including snow and ice removal * Maintains, repairs and installs traffic signs, route markers, and pavement markings * Performs emergency response activities such as: clean-up, traffic control, lane closures, placement of signs, and erecting barricades * Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, refueling, and pre-trip inspections * Performs miscellaneous labor tasks * Performs job documentation tasks such as entry into the Work Management System (WMS) * Provides assistance to the public by responding to general inquiries, explaining delays, etc. * May perform basic construction inspection duties, as needed * Performs other related job duties as assigned. What We're Looking For * High school graduate or equivalent * Must possess a valid driver's license What You'll Need For Success * Must have valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or ability to obtain within 90 days * Must have ability to read, write and communicate clearly * Required to submit to and pass a drug test as a condition of employment * Must have ability to lift 50 pounds * Must have ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing, and walking for long periods of time * Must have ability to endure exposure to inclement weather * Must have ability to operate specialty traffic equipment (e.g. bucket trucks, paint equipment, etc. * Must have ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
