Summary:
The Quality technician is responsible for ensuring that equipment is compliant to customer specifications prior to shipment. They will work directly with production, engineering and service personnel to plan and execute the inspection process in accordance with customer ship dates. They will work directly with the quality supply department to maintain inspection of incoming parts along with maintaining the RMA process. They are responsible for working in a safe manner and maintaining a clean production work area.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Interprets engineering drawings and schematic diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality, reliability and regulatory standards.
Assists with the development or maintenance of Continuous Improvement programs (CI training, ISO audit activity, MERIT program, etc...)
Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and evaluates products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, safety and mechanical or electrical characteristics.
Acts as the focal person for issues involving CE, UL, or other regulatory requirements.
Develops SPC and Process Capability programs by working with shop employees and management.
Authors reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Sets up and supervises tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
Perform duties as department representative on vendor certifications. Perform vendor reviews as required.
Works with PRIDE development teams to identify quality characteristics and metrics required for producing new products.
Other duties as assigned.
