The Quality System (QS)Lead Auditor is responsible for proper execution of the Quality Management System (QMS) audit program at our Salt Lake City, UT; Melbourne, FL; and San Diego, CA sites.The QS Lead Auditor is a subject matter expert on the interpretation, implementation, and assessment of QMS processes across multiple sites against AS9100 requirements.The QS Lead Auditor will work with the QMS Manager and Quality Audit team to plan and execute compliance and process audits and associated corrective and preventative actions in support of all AS9100 requirements and continuous improvement objectives.

This position requires interface with employees and leaders across multiple sites.Process improvement initiatives, corrective action execution, and verification of effectiveness activities will be required.Fundamental to the QS Lead Auditors responsibility is an expert-level interpretation of AS9100 requirements and their application within business processes through out the division.

Responsibilities, duties, skills and traits of the successful candidate may include, but are not limited to:

  • Proven AS9100 Lead Auditor knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of Aerospace, Defense, and Industry Standards for Quality (e.g. AS9100, AS9102, Mil-Std-1520), along with Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) standards.

  • Conduct compliance audits i.e. Foreign Object Debris (FOD), ESD, housekeeping, and product handling; investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.

  • Verify program processes and procedures are compliant with company, industry (AS9100/ CMMI) and regulatory standards using direct interviews and documentation reviews.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral).Ability to professionally interface and communicate with personnel at all levels of the company, including senior management.

  • Proven relationship building ability with program leaders and with functional areas (e.g. manufacturing, engineering, business development), along with customers (internal and external), vendors and subcontractor representatives to ensure QMS requirements are met while fostering an environment of trust and mutual respect.

  • Ability to anticipate, embrace, communicate, implement and champion change (change management) across organizations, programs, and sites.

  • Demonstrated use of analytical methods and root cause analysis techniques, including, but not limited to these areas:1) research and investigate process improvement opportunities; 2) recommend corrective and preventive actions with disposition and modifications; 3) conduct follow up on corrective actions as needed to ensure sustainment occurs.

  • Use statistical quality control tools and methods, lean manufacturing concepts and techniques, and six sigma principles and tools to analyze audit results.

  • Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.

  • Experience with continuous improvement practices, tools, and methods preferred.

  • Proven ability to productively contribute work, ideas and collaboration as part of a team in a cooperative effort to accomplish goals and objectives.

What you will do Working in partnership with the Global Supplier Network, you'll be involved in the ongoing support for the internal business units to address ongoing supplier quality issues, development of suppliers and ensuring that our external supply chain are capable of meeting expectations from a quality, service and cost perspective. You will serve as liaison between suppliers and Stryker to drive effective continuous improvement as a result of the supplier base. You will work with internal customers and suppliers in support of supplier quality issues; provide technical support for activities related to supplier quality system assessment and performance evaluation. You will collaborate with the strategic sourcing, auditing and development groups to understand the capabilities and competencies of suppliers to meet our requirements and continually meet and adapt to our product quality and regulatory requirements. This person can be based out of any US Stryker location. Responsibilities: * Own Supplier related CAPA review and management, ensuring effective use of appropriate problem-solving tools. * Support tracking and reporting of KPI and other metrics associated with supplier performance. * Provide education and training to suppliers as necessary. * Articulate detailed supplier performance results and trends to appropriate levels of management. * Performs PPAP activities for supplier changes. * Perform detailed process reviews at supplier's manufacturing site. * Assess and critique supplier process control documentation, identifying areas of improvement and driving improvement within the suppliers QMS. * Communicate effectively to suppliers and internal stakeholders. * Maintain and track to completion closure of assigned supplier action items. * Collaborate with external/internal teams and stakeholders to prioritize supplier-initiated change requests. * Develop and drive completion of personal development plans (IDP). * Support PMO projects and initiatives. * Develop relationships with suppliers and internal cross functional partners. * Identify and execute on cost reduction opportunities through quality improvements at suppliers. * Participate in supplier audits, as required. * Manage and execute supplier-initiated changes for continuous improvement, cost reduction or supplier remediation activities. * Analyze non-conformance data to prioritize projects and to solve systemic supplier issues. * Execute pro-active supplier site visits. * Transfer "lessons learned" from the supply base back to R&D for incorporation into next generation designs. * Provide problem solving expertise at supplier locations in support of critical quality issues. * Train, mentor and assist in the development of less experienced engineers. * Propose and develop effective quality improvement plans to be implemented at appropriate suppliers. * Provide support to 3rd Party Audits relating to Supplier Quality CAPA. * May act as a single point of contact for Strategic Business Partners and in some cases for Strategic Suppliers. * Serve as a subject matter expert, for assigned commodity; share expertise within global Stryker organization. * Lead or Oversee project portfolio of supplier improvement activities. * Collaborate with external/strategic partners to identify companywide opportunities for supplier improvement. * Oversee processes as a process owner and drive standardization of SQ-related processes such as PPAP, DPM, etc. What you need Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * Minimum of 4 years working in quality, engineering, or manufacturing experience Preferred Qualifications: * Preferred industries are medical device, aviation, aerospace, automotive and defense * Internal Quality Auditor Qualification either in AS 9100 or ISO13485, CFR820 or comparable industry standards and regulatory requirements Work From Home: Not available Travel Percentage: 60% Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
