The Quality Surge Team Manager is responsible for assisting in planning and implementing Quality Systems strategy including complaint handling and analysis, documentation, training, organizational planning, implementation of technology, and developing and implementing tactical plans to meet Company and Corporate objectives. This individual assists in implementing policies to ensure compliance with applicable Customer Requirements and Industry Standards / Specifications. Plans, coordinates, and directs Quality Systems and Customer Programs to ensure products and processes are consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through collaboration with others within the organization.

Initially, the Quality Surge Team Manager will lead a team of Quality professionals to drive quick Quality improvements in targeted Arconic operations. The Quality Surge Team Manager will be placed in an intensive management training program to learn and then apply Arconic's Quality system before assuming a full-time Quality leadership role in an Arconic business.

Essential Functions &

Key Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the VP Global Quality Assurance, this role is responsible for customer-plant liaison, implementation and improvement of statistical methods, quality cost analysis, specification and procedure development, and conduct of plant quality audits.

  • Strategic Management of the Quality functions for manufacturing operations.

  • Developing overall Product Quality Plan and implement policies, procedures, and processes to improve operational practices, create customer satisfaction and reduce cost.

  • Ensuring that systems & processes are in place with both internal and external suppliers to ensure product quality.

  • Working with management, production, and marketing staff to determine quality requirements for new and existing products.

  • Perform liaison between manufacturing plants and customers relative to customer specifications, customer quality requirements, and customer problems.

  • Review customer complaints, analyze returns, and make recommendations for corrective action.

  • Assist plants in implementation of statistical methods and quality improvement programs.

  • Developing a team of highly motivated quality professionals to drive industry best in class.

  • Managing certification & accreditation processes.

  • Ensuring compliance with customer specifications and government regulations/FAA/CAA/ EASA/DOD/DOT.

  • Establishing procedures to verify new/changing products meet customer and internal requirements before manufacturing start-up.

  • Ensuring long-term sustainability and improvement of the Quality Management Systems.

  • Leading Change Management Process to ensure continuous improvements while ensuring total internal and external customer satisfaction.

  • Diverse leadership experience in areas of Engineering, Planning, Financial, Manufacturing or Technical areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with and influence the decision making of Senior Management.

  • Track record for growing and developing people and teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Business, Engineering, or Transportation/Logistics from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a strategic team for systems, processes, and manufacturing operations

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer Graduate Degree in Business, Engineering or related Technology/Science Discipline.

  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability of building a team, envisioning and articulating the strategy, and passionately owning and driving the team towards achievement

  • Quality Assurance experience in Aerospace or Automotive environment is preferred.

  • Strong command and understanding of thermal processing, chemical processing, nondestructive testing, material laboratory testing, castings, forgings, extrusions, and metallurgical practices

  • Experience implementing quality systems and leading change through strategic direction

  • Strong command of aerospace quality specifications, SAE, ASTM, AMS, NASM, ANSI, AS/EN/TS/PPAP/CAPA standards, and customer specifications/requirements

  • Understanding NADCAP AC7102, AC7006, AC7114, AC7101, AC7108

  • Demonstrates integrity, credibility, and confidentiality required.

  • ASQ certification and formal course work in Industrial Statistical Methods.

  • Strong mechanical and manufacturing process skills/experience.

  • Analytical skills and understanding of problem solving techniques/tools.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills at all levels required.

  • Experience using MS Office applications.

Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience. QUALIFICATIONS: * Is currently licensed as an RN through the California State Board of Registered Nurses. * Must have a minimum of (a) one year of experience as a professional nurse within the last three years; or (b) have a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing and a current RN license. * Complies with accepted professional standards and principles. * Understands Hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying. * Has presented a pre-employment physicians health clearance including a negative TB skin test and/or CXR and other tests as required by the organizations policy. * Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured. * Possesses and maintains current CPR certification. * Has satisfactory references from nursing school, previous (or current) employers and/or professional peers. * Has excellent observation, good nursing judgment and communication skills. JOB DUTIES: * Seeks and obtains sufficient information necessary to function effectively in the Hospice setting where patient/family/caregiver are requiring care. * *Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of nursing process. * *Assesses and evaluates patients status by: * Participating in writing and initiating the plan of care * Regularly re-evaluating patient/family/caregiver needs which include the impact of the terminal diagnosis on the patients physical, functional, psychosocial and environmental needs and activities of daily living * Revising the plan of care as necessary] * *Initiates and sustains as needed the implementation of orders for medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician. * Initiates and applies appropriate preventative and therapeutic nursing procedures and techniques and maintains communication regarding patient care with the physician and supervisory personnel. * Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patients condition, care given and demonstrates progress towards establishing goals. * Uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently. * Observes the patient for changes in condition and reports these changes and the patients/familys/caregivers needs to the attending physician and appropriate supervisory personnel. Records pain/symptom management changes/outcomes as appropriate. * Assists the patient with the activities of daily living and facilitates the patients efforts toward self-sufficiency and optimal comfort care. * Provides education regarding the disease process, end of life care, self care techniques and processes for dealing with issues of ethical concern. In addition, provides medication, diet and other instructions as ordered by the physician and recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health counseling with patients/families/caregivers.
