The Quality Surge Team Manager is responsible for assisting in planning and implementing Quality Systems strategy including complaint handling and analysis, documentation, training, organizational planning, implementation of technology, and developing and implementing tactical plans to meet Company and Corporate objectives. This individual assists in implementing policies to ensure compliance with applicable Customer Requirements and Industry Standards / Specifications. Plans, coordinates, and directs Quality Systems and Customer Programs to ensure products and processes are consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through collaboration with others within the organization.

Initially, the Quality Surge Team Manager will lead a team of Quality professionals to drive quick Quality improvements in targeted Arconic operations. The Quality Surge Team Manager will be placed in an intensive management training program to learn and then apply Arconic's Quality system before assuming a full-time Quality leadership role in an Arconic business.

Essential Functions &

Key Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the VP Global Quality Assurance, this role is responsible for customer-plant liaison, implementation and improvement of statistical methods, quality cost analysis, specification and procedure development, and conduct of plant quality audits.

  • Strategic Management of the Quality functions for manufacturing operations.

  • Developing overall Product Quality Plan and implement policies, procedures, and processes to improve operational practices, create customer satisfaction and reduce cost.

  • Ensuring that systems & processes are in place with both internal and external suppliers to ensure product quality.

  • Working with management, production, and marketing staff to determine quality requirements for new and existing products.

  • Perform liaison between manufacturing plants and customers relative to customer specifications, customer quality requirements, and customer problems.

  • Review customer complaints, analyze returns, and make recommendations for corrective action.

  • Assist plants in implementation of statistical methods and quality improvement programs.

  • Developing a team of highly motivated quality professionals to drive industry best in class.

  • Managing certification & accreditation processes.

  • Ensuring compliance with customer specifications and government regulations/FAA/CAA/ EASA/DOD/DOT.

  • Establishing procedures to verify new/changing products meet customer and internal requirements before manufacturing start-up.

  • Ensuring long-term sustainability and improvement of the Quality Management Systems.

  • Leading Change Management Process to ensure continuous improvements while ensuring total internal and external customer satisfaction.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with and influence the decision making of Senior Management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Business, Engineering, or Transportation/Logistics from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a strategic team for systems, processes, and manufacturing operations

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer Graduate Degree in Business, Engineering or related Technology/Science Discipline.

  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability of building a team, envisioning and articulating the strategy, and passionately owning and driving the team towards achievement

  • Quality Assurance experience in Aerospace or Automotive environment is preferred.

  • Strong command and understanding of thermal processing, chemical processing, nondestructive testing, material laboratory testing, castings, forgings, extrusions, and metallurgical practices

  • Experience implementing quality systems and leading change through strategic direction

  • Strong command of aerospace quality specifications, SAE, ASTM, AMS, NASM, ANSI, AS/EN/TS/PPAP/CAPA standards, and customer specifications/requirements

  • Understanding NADCAP AC7102, AC7006, AC7114, AC7101, AC7108

  • Demonstrates integrity, credibility, and confidentiality required.

  • ASQ certification and formal course work in Industrial Statistical Methods.

  • Strong mechanical and manufacturing process skills/experience.

  • Analytical skills and understanding of problem solving techniques/tools.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills at all levels required.

  • Experience using MS Office applications.

ROFPS' Claims Assistance Center is seeking to fill a Quality Manager 4 position. This position will manage multiple teams of Quality Managers and Analysts responsible for performing regulatory quality reviews to ensure compliance with agency and government regulations and/or internal company requirements. This person will partner with the lines of business they support as well as other consultants to identify trends and/or potential issues requiring correction. They will work with the process SMEs to update or change procedures and develop effective control reports as needed to reduce regulatory risk. The Quality Manager 4 ensures CAC's compliance with all regulatory compliance requirements, including but not limited to Regulation E, Regulation V, Regulation Z and UD(A)AP. This Quality Manager 4 role will have a very specific Regulation E focus on a daily and ongoing basis. They will be responsible for conducting moderately complex to complex analyses of the CAC business units, including monitoring methodology, quality scorecards, and comprehensive reporting. The primary focus is on regulatory compliance. This person will provide direction to and through subordinate managers; ensuring quality standards are maintained and ensuring enactment of approaches to correct problems. They will provide subject matter expertise to interpret and administer policies, guidelines, processes or service matters and engage business leaders and legal, risk/compliance partners to clarify as needed. They will be expected to continuously look for ways to reduce risk for the lines of business they support through new and improved control reporting and partnership to help with the understanding of potential risks.
