Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for all on-site product inspection activities including establishing and monitoring inspection techniques, production scheduling, and data collection and communication. The incumbent will supervise all on-site inspectors technicians and is responsible for ensuring the inspectors are appropriately trained, competent and consistent in conducting their responsibilities.
Provide leadership and supervision of site inspection personnel for in-process and final inspection pipe inspection activities, including ensuring all required safety practices are defined and followed.
Responsible for the effective translation of agreed requirements into effective and efficient inspection techniques.
Ensures SXP products are inspected in compliance to all required specifications, customer requirements and third party accreditation requirements.
Responsible for the coordination and maintenance of all required aspects of instrument calibration, inspector training, certification and validation.
Responsible to ensure inspections are conducted consistently by all inspectors and according to all defined requirements.
Responsible for accurate data collection, recording and reporting for all on-site inspection activities.
Ensures that all aspects of the QMS are satisfied within areas for which they are responsible.
Must understand and follow requirements of customer and industry specifications, SXP QMS and SXP EHS system.
Must be able to train others to follow established inspection and material processing procedures and constructively hold the organization accountable to meeting those requirements.
Supports Operations, Quality and Technical organizations to develop in-process and final inspection processes to detect, resolve and eliminate product nonconformities at the earliest stage possible.
Establishes and maintains key quality metrics which are used in partnership with other SXP team members to identify improvement opportunities. Participates as a key member of the improvement teams and assists with communicating opportunities, actions, plans and progress to the management team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED
Experience working in an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System required
3 years' applicable metals-related manufacturing and/or inspection experience required
AS9100 & API Q1 experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferred
Technical and practical competence with inspection and inspection requirements interpretation
Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, suppliers and auditors
Strong understanding of products and metal working processes
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong ethics, reasoning, and communication skills.
