Overview

Great Day Improvements Manufacturing (Macedonia, OH) - Quality Supervisor

Assure consistent quality of production by development and enforcement of quality assurance measures. As the Quality Supervisor, you will manage and lead a team of quality inspectors and will act as liaison between manufacturing and QA management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and audit process, material, and product testing against established standards and conduct continuous analysis of quality defects and deviations.

• Implement, capture, and report the appropriate metrics to measure the quality of output.

• Develop, review and approve procedures, forms, and instructions within the QMS.

• Make decisions in regard to the disposition of non-conforming material and ensure proper containment and follow-up

• Lead corrective action plan development, implementation and follow up as quality problems occur.

• Manage and direct the analysis of formal test results to discover and report any defect process issues, and nonconformities.

• Provide feedback regarding specifications of materials, parts, and products based upon inspection results and respond to questions from groups of managers, colleagues, and customers.

• Maintain equipment calibrations in accordance with QMS and product certification programs.

• Direct and supervise hourly floor inspectors/ auditors to ensure they are properly trained and qualified to relation to product(s) being inspected.

• Communicate daily with team members to ensure resources are being fully utilized and to prioritize projects according to urgency and/or business impact.

• Customer Service - Responds to requests for service and assistance

• Additional duties as needed

Qualifications

• 6+ years of QA department experience in a manufacturing environment.

• 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Black or Green Belt Six Sigma Certification is a plus.

• Team player with a proactive, positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to manage and motivate team members to reach their maximum level of productivity.

• Ability to develop innovative ideas which result in the creation of new methods, services, or products.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail balanced with a big-picture focus and ability to work cooperatively with others.

• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees from hourly personnel to senior management.

• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort level with industrial equipment.

• Familiarity with precise measurement equipment and understanding of manufacturing tolerances.

• Intermediate computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and basic statistical analysis.
