Job Summary

The Quality Specialist provides leadership and oversight for developing, managing, evaluating, and enhancing functions of patient safety, quality performance improvement, regulatory compliance and infection prevention. Infection prevention includes development and oversight of facility infection control programs that are specific to individual facilities and the populations served.

In order to ensure quality efforts and initiatives complement and support one another, the Quality Specialist partners with a divergent group of individuals including patients, families, providers, clinicians, committees, counties, other providers, hospitals, and other stakeholders. These collaborative relationships are essential to ensure consistency in quality practices with all areas of Direct Care & Treatment Services (DCT).

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive quality department through performance improvement projects, infection prevention, quality improvement initiatives, quality review processes, and monitoring key quality indicators which identify opportunities for improvement in patient outcomes, patient safety and patient experience

  • Educating hospital staff and quality team leadership on best practices, regulatory requirements, patient safety and infection control practices in order to continuously raise standards of excellence in the areas of patient safety, quality, and patient experience

  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through participation in education opportunities such as departmental in-services, staff meetings, relevant educational seminars, quality and performance education as approved by supervisor


Minimum Qualifications:

Must meet the following qualifications listed below:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing

  • Current licensure in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse

  • 2 years of Registered Nurse experience with an emphasis in infection prevention or staff education/training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing, managing, evaluating, and enhancing functions of Patient Safety, Quality Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention, and Regulatory Compliance

Principal Administrative Secretary Join the public safety professionals of the Anoka County Sheriff's Office as a Principal Administrative Secretary. This is a critical position assisting the Detention Commander and other jail staff with reports, record keeping, financial transactions and administrative support. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY):Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of a Principal Administrative Secretary. * Provides general administrative support for Jail Administration. * Develops, maintains and handles confidential information. * Schedules and coordinates administrative meetings as required, attends meetings and takes minutes. * Develops and maintains various reporting systems to track and maintain records of jail operations and activities. * Prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports for jail operations including statistical information. * Submits and tracks federal reports, requests for proposals, and contracts. * Monitors expenditures, orders uniforms, office supplies, jail supplies, inmate supplies and forms. * Receives, reviews and processes all invoices for payment and investigates and corrects errors as necessary, calculates and prepares purchase orders and prepares prisoner board bills, and reconciles monthly revenue and expense report. * Submits, monitors and tracks physical plant, IT and telecom work orders and purchase orders. * Monitors Jail Division fixed assets and conducts annual inventories, completes year-end financial paper work and forwards to Sheriff's Office Administration. * Maintains jail personnel information, organizes and maintains filing systems and monitors record retention procedures. Career potential up to $66,081 ($31.77 per hour). After successful completion of an initial hire probationary period, eligible for an initial hire probationary period increase.
