Position Description

Position Summary:

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated Quality Specialist with required certifications in SQF, HACCP, and SQR. This role involves evaluating products to ensure they meet quality standards, supporting SQF and Food Safety initiatives, and acting as a substitute for the Quality Lead when necessary. This is an exciting opportunity available immediately for a professional with a strong background in quality assurance and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and procedures.

• Be familiar with and able to execute Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.

• Promptly report safety concerns and incidents to the supervisor.

• Quality Inspection:

• Inspect products to identify defects and ensure they meet quality standards.

• Prepare and provide samples for production evaluations.

• Execute quality audits for each shift and machine.

• Audit and Compliance:

• Perform various audit actions, including approvals for changeovers and setups.

• Contribute to SQF Procedures by helping with development, document reviews, and updates.

• Participate in addressing customer complaints and internal audit findings related to SQF.

• Data Management:

• Record data accurately in Excel or SPC software.

• Conduct quality tests using lab measurement tools.

• Oversee gauge calibration.

• General Duties:

• Operate independently for daily tasks and make quality-related decisions.

• Uphold the Plant's Food Safety commitments by completing necessary training and adhering to required practices.

• Serve as a substitute for the Quality Lead when required.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQF, HACCP, and Food Safety programs is required.

• HAACP and SQR certifications are required for this role.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

• Experience with Excel and SPC software.

• Ability to conduct quality tests and oversee gauge calibration.

• Experience in manufacturing and quality assurance preferred.
