Corning's Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ("LCDs") that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Scope of Position:
In this role, you will lead the Quality operations team responsible for internal product dispositions, quality control sampling, rework of product, outgoing inspection, and development testing support. Direct supervision of hourly and salaried personnel, and responsible for all day to day operations in the Quality department.
Understand internal and external customer's stated and implied needs through interaction with Quality Engineering. Ensure customer expectations are met every time by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and continuously improving Harrodsburg Quality systems
Work with the Plant Quality Manager to execute according to Product Quality Architecture strategy.
We engage in customer concern review, generate action plans to improve quality and reduce cost of quality impact.
We partner with gauge and measurements engineering to introduce new gauges and techniques to the plant and partner with Process Engineering on enhancement projects to ensure we meet customer specifications and expectations.
Ensure quality operations are adequate from a staffing and training perspective to perform all activities associated with production and development support.
We track and report on critical quality metrics and alert appropriate levels to trends. Handle rework inventory with goal of minimizing cost of held inventory and reduce lag from development efforts.
You will collaborate with different levels of Corning Glass Technologies management regarding quality and quality-related issues (Product Line Management, Engineering, Sales, Customers, Scheduling, Production, Inter-Plant, Inter-Division)
Handle expenditure of funds to meet budget requirements
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
2+ years' work experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior supervisory experience required
Do you have a solid understanding and ability to execute manufacturing and Product Quality Architecture principles?
We need you to have a base knowledge of statistical methodology and measurement assurance/calibration principles
You will use your data based decision-making skills in this position.

Understanding of documentation systems and familiarity with product specifications and measurements
Statistical Process Controls and experience with ISO 9001 or similar certification process
Project management experience would also be a plus
