What will you be doing in this role?

Execute PFS Quality Review program within assigned area of PFS -- under limited supervision and guidelines and within CSHS policies and procedures. Develop and track departmental Quality review (QR) indicators and report findings.

  • Perform independent Quality Reviews of individual performance as needed to supplement supervisory reviews.

  • Analyze findings to identify and offer solutions for new and innovative ways to improve processes within the department.

  • Function as a positive, creative, and effective contributor, actively participating in performance improvement activities and consulting in implementation of education programs.

  • Assess training needs, develop training program and deliver raining. Standardize, publish, and maintain PFS policies, procedures, and job aids.

  • Respond to regulatory and contractual changes impacting the practices of the department and ensure prompt communication and implementation of appropriate procedures.

  • Act as a technical subject matter expert in the use of policies, procedures, and systems in support of the PFS goal to achieve maximum patient account collections and minimum accounts receivable days thus directly and specifically contributing the medical center cash flow.

  • Serve as a resource for PFS management and staff regarding processes, procedures, and system fluency.

Requirements:

  • Education: high school diploma/GED. Undergraduate degree or equivalent related work experience -- strongly preferred.

  • Certification: After successful completion of probation, will be required to obtain Epic Resolute Hospital Billing (RHB) Principal Trainer certification necessary to participate in CS-Link HB training environment patient build.

Experience & skills:

  • High level of working knowledge and expertise relating to hospital billing and collections / customer service / revenue cycle performance, typically gained through five (5) or more years of experience. Preference will be given to individual with experience in multiple areas and/or with supervisory or management experience.

  • Knowledge of CQI theory and principles.

  • Training / coaching experience required, including knowledge of adult learning theory, and raining curriculum development and delivery.

  • Experience in software applications that support quality-monitoring (i.e., Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word)--strongly preferred.

  • Proficient in flowcharting and project management--strongly preferred.

  • Excellent presentation, organization, and analysis skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills--required.

  • High motivation and demonstrated ability to maintain courteous and professional working relationships across all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with short time-lines, prioritize and organize work, and complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems taking decisive action in a timely manner.

VIEW JOBS 2/22/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-22T00:00 Responsible for analyzing, monitoring, evaluating and resolving account stop bills and DNBs. * Identifies, A/R system issues, contract discrepancies, complex payor errors and credit balance evaluation. * Performs summary review and validation of credit accts and approval of commerical payor refund requests per department guidelines. * Responsible for working with other CSMC departments, collection agencies, bad debt vendors and insurance companies to correct errors, underpayments, or work process with little supervision. * Reconciles and tracks outsourced and bad debt accounts, verifies and processes vendor's invoices and prepares various reports and monitoring for vendor performance. * Accurately and consistently documents negative results of any vendor assignment, payor issues, and special collection or coverage projects. * Identifies systemic errors, makes process improvement recommendations to assure highest revenue recovery possible with most efficient workflow. * Incumbent has expert knowledge, skill and proficiency in specialized functions of Payor Plans and Coverage records, and in multiple areas of the revenue cycle, including Physicians Billing, Registration and Payor Contracts. * Individual must be able to work through long lists of accounts in a timely manner with minimal supervision, be a quick learner, follow detailed instructions, provide feedback on the development of job aids, and track and report production results on a weekly basis. * Trouble-shoot system problems and document improvement opportunities. * May perform recurring data compilations from varied sources to inform management team of receivables status. * May coordinate or monitor progress of special projects related to resolving identified accounts receivable concerns or payor plan issues. * Serves as a Technical resource (SME) to other departments or collection vendors on adjustments, payment contracts, payor plans and workflows. Educational Requirements: * High School Graduate * Two years of college with courses in business, accounting, computer operation & applications preferred Experience: * Three (3) to Five (5) years revenue cycle experience – Hospital Billing / collections / Insurance experience. * Able to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment with conflicting demands on time and attention. * Strong Verbal and written communication to handle inquiries from management, staff , vendors or insurance companies.
