This is a great hands-on opportunity within the Quality Assurance Department for an experienced Quality/Process Engineer who wants their work to make a measurable impact on business performance. The person will be responsible for process development, analysis and improvement. The successful candidate may also take part with process development/creation and programming within the corporate database.


  • Collect, sort, analyze and interpret information for process development/improvement initiatives

  • Develop/Program process maps and controls within production database while minimizing waste and maximizing accuracy and efficiency from inception through implementation.

  • Interpret product requirements for traceability, performance and compliance to internal and industry standards utilizing best known methods.

  • Develop and implement continual improvement initiatives as required to comply with internal goals and/or customer specific requirements.

  • Implement and drive corrective and preventative actions pertaining to process compliance and quality.

  • Ability to compose and review technical reports as required.

  • Risk Management experience such as FMEA, PDCA and DMAIC is desired.

  • Knowledge with product and process validation.

  • Ability to perform MTTF, MTBF, and FIT Rate analysis is a plus.

  • BSEE, BSME or similar educational background

  • 3 - 7 hands on years experience in a high tech, fast paced manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in the Laser or Photonics industry a plus.

  • Experience with optical and electrical test methods in support of active fiber devices such as fiber amplifiers and lasers.

  • Familiarity with internal quality process audits in support of the companies ISO 9001 program.

  • Familiar with Reliability testing and calculations.

  • Knowledgeable with lean six sigma, structured problem solving and root cause analysis.

  • Ownership and accountability for specific processes within the ISO 9001 QMS.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain a high emotional IQ.

  • No task too small attitude.

  • Travel may be required.

  • Must be a US person.

Summary We are currently looking for a Quality / EH&S Technician with experience in a manufacturing environment. This person will be responsible for the material handling and preparation for routine testing and maintenance of assigned laboratory equipment as well as testing products and raw materials as per ASTM to ensure compliance and/or to develop new formulas. Essential Duties / Responsibilities * Preparation of materials and products for testing * Sampling and reduction of samples * Routine tests of raw materials, calculation of results and preparation of tests reports * Support manufacturing team in producing the highest quality products * Test all products and raw materials and record results * Calculate adjustments needed to correct the product if necessary * Obtain product samples and communicate what will be produced * Perform production material test throughout shift * Perform product reject analysis * Visit manufacturing sites to test machinery and report proposed process improvements * Inspect all finished goods * Know all ASTM standards that apply and ensure all products meet these standards * Ensure compliance among production workers (PPE, LOTO, Mobile Safety) * Conduct plant training * Help conduct weekly toolbox * Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
