PURPOSE:

The general scope of this position's responsibilities are to engage in Quality/Process improvements analyzed by using gathered data and lead root-cause and corrective actions driven by problem solving tools. This position interacts with the production, Quality, and Process Team to build strong relations in effective problem solving while reducing scrap, customer complaints, and drive efficiency in daily quality and production functions. The position also supports Quality Lab functions in assigned areas as well as demonstrates product testing using Lab equipment and reporting such results as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee Lab Quality Technicians daily activities

  • Maintain Lab testing Equipment

  • Conduct testing and disposition product using require Lab Equipment

  • Conduct CTQ Plant Training to improve quality awareness

  • Create and disposition internal QAN's

  • Manage LEQ (suspect material on hold)

  • Lead Plant Continuous Improvement activities

  • Reviewing and dispositioning aged inventory

  • Assist in continuous ISO 9001 certification activities

  • Assist in GMP and Safety activities

  • Act as COA reporting back up

  • Engage in Quality Lab Activity as required

  • New Product Development support

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong background of Root-Cause Analysis / Problem Solving using tools of PDCA, Fish-Bone diagram, and 8D analysis.

  • Understanding and applications of SPC, DOE and Gage RR

  • Strong ability to use and analyze data to drive product improvements.

  • Experience in leadership roles and managing resources

  • Must possess typing skills with minimal error

  • Must have a strong background and use of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (internal and external plant)

  • Working knowledge of computers and their function

  • Working knowledge of all testing equipment in the lab

  • Ability to read, write, hear and speak English proficiently

  • Drive a Can Do attitude using continuous improvement tools in the plant environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 5 years of quality and process manufacturing environment

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES * Responsible for developing suppliers/new components through the APQP process and AIAG production part approval process – travel as needed to review supplier process and corrective action verification. * Liaison between engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and supplier regarding quality issues. * Monitor supplier quality through weekly and monthly ppm reports – request and obtain corrective actions per these quality spills. * Analyze daily component quality issues-disposition MRN and initiate CAN's per these issues. * Surveys potential new suppliers; determines potential supplier's ability to meet quality standards. * Direct technical and administrative workers involved in quality assurance activities. * Apply statistical process control and gauge R & R methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes. * Review and analyze supplier PPAP's and quality issues. * Communicate with suppliers regarding current Calsonic manufacturing issues and scrap. * Perform supplier process audits and GP-9 (run@rate) evaluations. * Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues. * Performs other duties as assigned.
